What a memorable experience! My friend took me to try out their lunch menu, and everything was so exquisitely created. Love their farm-to-table concept, supporting Hong Kong local ingredients & food. Every dish was incredibly delicious, especially fried frog legs and roasted pigeon. I love their tangerine panache and chai egg waffle.  Service was exceptional, they kept replenishing my hot water, which I truly appreciate.

Rarely leave a review but food and service was exceptional! Came here for a birthday dinner and we went for the tasting menu with wine pairing.  Honestly every dish was delicious - we had a hard time trying to pick a favourite. You can tell the staff are happy here and are very passionate to tell you about their food and wine. Service was impeccable too - very natural introduction to the dish and wouldn't make you listen to a much "rehearsed" script, plates were taken away timely, servers very attentive but also made sure to give you space (you didn't feel watched). Wine was very nicely picked and the pour was more than generous (we were quite tipsy towards the end of the meal). Would definitely come back again!

Disappointing Service

I recently dined at this restaurant and, while the food was not bad, the service was far from acceptable.

When the waitress asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, I requested warm water. However, we were unfairly charged for still water, and I never saw any water bottles opened at our table.

Additionally, when the waitress inquired about needing more bread, I responded with a "yes, please," but we were never served the refill.

We enjoyed a delicious starter, but the waiter took it away even though one of the cones was still untouched.

Although each dish was explained with its ingredients, the waiter’s/ waitress's voice was too low, and the pace was too fast to follow.

To top it off, when we asked the waitress to take a picture to celebrate my friend's birthday, she seemed unwilling to help.

Overall, the service left much to be desired, which overshadowed the quality of the food.

Another quality restaurant from Bo’s Alvin. I feel it position itself as the affordable Michelin quality restaurant. And it has done well to make “farm to table” possible in HK.

There are abundant of this kind of restaurants in Hk, and I think many of them fail to maintain the right balance between quality and price in a long run or simply lose their ways. So chef do need to make a huge effort to stay on top of the game.

And as always, Alvin knows how to give context to his dishes and tell the stories once again. More than once, he ties his food with HK culture, but this time he pushes a little further. He adds the farm to table concept and it is remarkably astonishing.

In view of 廖孖記 case, the “made in HK” is touchy phase to use in these days. Each of us has a different understanding and acceptance to what’s truly originated in HK. Maybe I’m too naive, but I do believe the restaurant has done its part to bring HK farmers to the spotlight and shown to us that local ingredients can be cooked and handled as good as other places.

(one thing i hope this restaurant to provide more is to increase dinners’ awareness / impressions / understanding of the local ingredients. Apart from verbal introduction, I think there can be more to do in order for dinners to have a deeper impression of farm to table)

The dinner of 11 dining experience here was disappointing from start to finish. Service was notably slow, likely due to understaffing, which detracted from our meal. While the appetizers were good, the main issue was the inconsistency in food quality. We ordered three whole chickens at a premium price, expecting them to be the local Ping Yuen平原 chicken. Unfortunately, only one tasted as it should have. The waiter suggested it might be due to sourcing or kitchen treatment, but the taste and texture were obviously different—clearly different types of chicken.

Other dishes were okay, but not worth the steep prices. We also encountered a billing error with a 1000 overcharge, which took a friend 10 minutes to sort out.

The last straw was the coffee machine breaking down, leaving us without coffee. The staff made no effort to rectify this or offer alternatives.

Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, as we want to support local businesses, but this kind of service and quality makes it difficult. Considering reaching out to the consumer council to address the chicken issue.
