This place have been the highlight of my stay in Kyoto.
The walk through Maruyama park to reach the house is truly unforgettable. The location is very convenient, if you are looking for a quiet but still central place, it is a perfect option.
The owner is a elderly lady with the kindest and warmest heart, she made me feel like home. Always caring about all the details with a smile on her face.
The room is very cosy, and authentique. There was a heating mat on the floor which was very enjoyable.
This place definitely deserve to last overtime and i’m already planning my next visit

We absolutely loved our stay at the Yoshimizu Inn! We wanted to try a traditional Japanese inn, and this spot definitely delivered. The home the inn is located in is absolutely stunning, and perched on a hill above the beautiful park. It’s walking distance to the Gion district, and many amazing shrines, and we thought it was the perfect location for a quiet stay close to the city. The hosts were incredible - so accommodating and kind, even though we don’t speak Japanese. They always had tea ready for us, we’re willing to be flexible with the eating and showering times, and allowed us to leave our bags while we explored the city our last day. The onsen is very nice, and the yakata (robes) in the rooms were so cute and fun. The rooms are cute, and it was a fun experience being in a traditional Japanese room. Overall we loved our stay - only wished it could have lasted longer! Absolutely recommend for a weekend in Kyoto.

Spent 7 nights here in July 2014 on our honeymoon. What a beautiful inn! Nestled into the woods at the  base of the mountains, it is as quiet as you will find in Kyoto, yet just a short walk through a beautiful park and a shrine to the a main road, and 10 minutes from a train station. The breakfast was nice, the inn cozy, and the staff just incredibly friendly. There are lots of western style hotels in Kyoto. This is a ryokan, or a traditional Japanese inn. Take off your shoes, enjoy the large communal showers, and sleep on a comfortable futon. You won't forget it, and like us, you may miss it the most after your visit.

Absolutely unique stay, in dense forest with authentic experience. The owner was very welcoming, the surrounding look like you stepped into Ghibli movie!

Everything was pristine clean, breakfast delicious. If you want authentic experience this is a must do!!

The owner even gave us post card of his Ryokan.

I love it here. I was here for 4 days during my stay in Kyoto, and although the location is a little tough to get to, it was still a nice walk everytime to go back every night and it's nice and quiet away from civilization. I had a single room and it was an amazing traditional experience, if you're looking for one you're at the right place.
Some people say the breakfast is a little lacking, but I thought it was perfect, you don't need to eat like a king everyday you wake up, bread and eggs with in my opinion amazing soup were great start for a day.
The hosts are also great, they try to understand you to ensure you have the best experience and one especially helped me look for the best way to get back to Kandai international airport without me even asking! Shame I didn't ask his name.
Overall it was an amazing experience and if I ever come back to Kyoto I will definitely choose to stay here again.
