I've heard lots of reputation about this restaurant, and been wanting to visit for a long time. Although it was hard to get a reservation, we were finally able to book on a weekday evening as a birthday celebration.

I really enjoyed that every dish was very tasty and made the most of the quality of the ingredients.

Many of the other customers appeared to be regulars and were chatting casually with the chef and other staff. I hope to become the same as them one day.

Although I highly recommend a visit, I don't think it's well worth the high price. That's because there are more affordable priced restaurants in terms of being able to eat good ingredients. They may have thought about their pricing so that they do not have too many customers.

Great fresh ingredients!  Deep -fried assorted seafood was really tasty and perfectly cooked. Also, lightly smoked Spanish mackerel goes well with white wine.

休日の妻とのランチです
今回３回目の｢洋食のおがた｣は妻の誕生日でお邪魔しました
予約は席のみで､料理は当日決めていますが､毎回”プチコース”になります
しかも妻は､メイン料理は”魚フライ”一択なんです
自分は､肉系の料理を順番にって感じで､今回は”ミンチカツ”
デザートは､妻が”シャーベット”､自分が”プリン”をセレクトしました！

■前菜
一品めは､”明石鯛のカルパッチョ”です
純白の深皿に鯛の切身､ルッコラ等の葉野菜が盛られ､味はオリーブオイルと岩塩､仕上げに柑橘を絞っただけのシンプルなもの
酸味が強過ぎない爽やかな淡い酸味の柑橘がよいアクセントになっています
鯛は軽く熟成を掛けてるのか？噛むと旨みが湧く様に感じられます
■サラダ
ロースハムのサラダです
大判のロースハムは､”熊本菊池の武藤さんの放牧飼育の走る豚のロースハム”
帯になった脂身が付いていますが､サッパリと軽い口当たり､しっとり柔らかく､薄くスライスされているので､噛む必要が無く､口の中で蕩けてしまそうです
野菜は”京都伏見山田ファームの無農薬”
グリーンリーフ､サニーレタス､トレビス､セロリ､ツルムラサキ､モロヘイヤ等の葉野菜に､水分たっぷりで甘みが在る紫玉葱のスライスが添えて在ります
■スープ
スープは毎度お馴染みの”具沢山のスープ”です
細かく刻んだベーコンに､キャベツ､大根､牛蒡､玉葱､人参､マッシュルーム､季節柄､冬瓜も入っています
トッピングはフレッシュの万願寺唐辛子､良く煮込まれて柔らかい他の具材とアクセントになってシャキシャキ､辛さは全く在りません
■メイン 魚フライ
魚フライは､”海老､カマス､グジ､アジ､太刀魚の５種盛り”　魚は､超有名な”静岡県焼津市のサスエ前田魚店”から送られたきたもの何が美味しいのか？何故美味しいのか？は分かりませんが､美味しいとしか云い様が無いんです
折角､滅多に来れないお店ですが､妻がこれ一択なのが判ります京料理に欠かせない食材の一つ､高級魚のグジは鱗を逆立たせた松笠揚げ風で､サクサクの食感も愉しく､甘みの在る上品な一品
太刀魚は白身でサッパリしてながらも旨みたっぷり
具材たっぷりのタルタルソースと､濃厚デミグラスソースとで食べます
■メイン ミンチカツ
大きな白い皿に色の濃いたっぷりのマッシュポテト､その上に俵型でコロっとしたミンチカツにたっぷりの漆黒のデミグラスソースが掛かっています
シンプルな盛付けですが､美味しいぞ～ってオーラが強く感じられます
拘りの精肉店”サカエヤ”の店主が手当てした骨付きの近江牛”と
”熊本の放牧飼育の走り豚”を使用した合挽のミンチカツ
真中で割ると､滝の様に肉汁が流れ出すって感じではなく､じんわりしみ出て､口へ運ぶと肉々さと衣の香ばしさが混ざって､口の中に旨みだけが残る感じ
１０日間煮込んだデミグラスソースは､甘酸っぱさと淡い苦みが共存､ミンチ肉の旨味とソースの旨味が増幅する相乗効果
■ライスとミニカレー
ご飯は”大中小”の三つの茶碗を実際に目の前にして､サイズ選びができます
初めてミニカレーを追加したので､皿ライスで提供されます
皿に小山に盛られたご飯は､茶碗よりも多く感じられます
”京都府綾部市の丹州河北農園のお米”を使っていて､艶々な炊き加減､二口ほどは､ソースをたっぷり絡めた料理をご飯の上でバウンドさせて愉しみ､以降は､白いソースポットに入ったカレーをレードルでたっぷり注いでカレーライスで戴きます
カレーは具材は全く存在が無く､漆黒の欧風カレーソースのみ色々煮込んで在るんでしょうね最初は､思ったよりもパンチが無かったのですが､後からコクと辛さ､スパイス感が追い掛けて来ます
６１０円でこの満足度が得られるのならば､追加はアリですね
■デザート シャーベット
此処でサプライズ・・・
予約の際には､妻の誕生日の事は告げておらず､会話でも食事がスタートする前に､ひと言お祝いの言葉を小声で告げただけでしたが､自分の地声が大きくてよく通るからなのか？
妻が選んだシャーベットは､バースデープレートで提供されたんです
チョコレートでのメッセージと赤いハート形のキャンドルシャーベット以外にも､”ガトーショコラとフルーツ”が添えて在りました
■デザート プリン
初めてお邪魔した時に食べたデザートです
しっかり硬めで､カラメルソースも苦味の在る､昔乍らで､自分の理想のプリンです
妻の魚フライじゃないけど､これ一択でもいいかなぁって思える一品です

Lunch with my wife on holiday
This is my third visit to "Western Food Ogata" as it was my wife's birthday.
Reservations are only for seats, and the food is decided on the day, but it will be a "petit course" every time.
Moreover, my wife only chooses "fried fish" as the main dish.
I like to eat meat-based dishes in order, and this time it's minced meat cutlet.
For dessert, my wife chose ``Sorbet'' and I chose ``Pudding''!

■Appetizer
The first dish is “Akashi sea bream carpaccio”
Sea bream fillets, arugula, and other leafy vegetables are served on a pure white deep plate, and the dish is simply flavored with olive oil, rock salt, and a squeeze of citrus fruit.
The refreshing light acidity of the citrus fruits is a nice accent without being too sour.
Is the sea bream lightly aged? You can feel the flavor come out when you bite into it.
■Salad
Roast ham salad
The large roast ham is made from pasture-raised pork roasted by Mr. Muto of Kikuchi, Kumamoto.
It has a thin strip of fat, but it has a light texture, is moist and soft, and is thinly sliced, so there's no need to chew and it just melts in your mouth.
The vegetables are “pesticide-free from Kyoto Fushimi Yamada Farm”
Leafy vegetables such as green leaf, sunny lettuce, trebis, celery, pickled vegetables, and molokheiya are served with juicy and sweet purple onion slices.
■Soup
The soup is the familiar "soup with lots of ingredients"
Contains finely chopped bacon, cabbage, radish, burdock, onion, carrot, mushroom, seasonal pattern, and winter melon.
The topping is fresh Manganji chili peppers, which are well-cooked and accentuated by the other soft ingredients, making it crunchy and not at all spicy.
■Main fried fish
The fried fish is an assortment of ``5 kinds of shrimp, barracuda, guji, horse mackerel, and cutlass.'' The fish was sent from the very famous ``Sasue Maeda Fish Store in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture.'' What's so delicious about it? Why is it delicious? I don't know, but all I can say is that it's delicious.
This is a restaurant that I rarely come to, but I know that this is my wife's choice.The high-grade fish guji, which is one of the essential ingredients of Kyoto cuisine, is fried in a Matsukasa style with the scales standing on end, and has a crispy texture. A fun, sweet and elegant dish

The demi-glace sauce that has been simmered for 10 days has a coexistence of sweet and sourness and a slight bitterness, creating a synergistic effect that amplifies the flavor of the minced meat and the flavor of the sauce.
■Rice and mini curry
You can choose the size of your rice by having three rice bowls (large, medium and small) in front of you.
This is the first time we have added mini curry, so it will be served with a plate of rice.
A small mountain of rice on a plate feels like more than a bowl.
