Exceptional meal in a beautiful setting, overlooking the river. There's a tremendous variety here, we went for lunch and ordered the smallest menu in anticipation of a long dinner just a few hours later. This was still very filling, not a single miss from the 10 courses, we loved every dish which are very well thought out. One of our favorite new spots in town

Best meal so far in our 2 week Japan trip. Exceptional vegetarian tempura omakase. Kindest staff and chef, genuinely loved their personalities and work. Food was beautifully made, presentation was fun, and pacing was great.

This is an omakase! Means there's no menu, but rest assured they will do you well.

Every dish wows you with flavor. Would suggest the more expensive set menu.

The best dishes were the shrimp chawamushi, mackerel sashimi, fried fish and eggplant, and the crab starter.

Presentation can be whimsical and fun but rarely that elaborate or pretty. Service is friendly and quick -- English friendly.

Would come back for this more down to earth good food.

Delicious kappo meal with some fun creative dishes. Please note this is not a tempura restaurant despite its name.

I was skeptical given the many negative reviews and allegations of foreigner discrimination, but I was relieved to find none of those reviews to be my experience. Highly recommend.

Only downside was that it was a little pricey and expensive, even for a restaurant of this caliber. And it is cash only - make sure you have enough.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about - we had the omakese meal and it was amazing! Yes the restaurant aesthetics are a bit dated, but the chefs are meticulous in the preparation/presentation of your dishes and the flavours are amazing. We had fresh bamboo shoot as our main which was incredible. The hot mochi in brown sugar for dessert was delicious!  Just be sure to bring cash to avoid having the run to an ATM at the end of your meal - omakese is around 30k yen per person.
