I love food here. Chef Shintarou is very friendly and takecare our group. Will come back to visit again when chef build a new restaurant close by.

One of the best dining experiences we've had in Japan. Chef Shintarou was so friendly and welcoming. He is a true master chef while staying very grounded. We enjoyed the service of the whole team. I would highly recommend booking a reservation here if you are visiting Osaka!

The food was okay but compared to some other same price level Kaiseki it is clearly worse in our experience. The gohan they offered has literally nothing but the rice itself.. several other Kaiseki we had all mix in mushrooms or unagi.

Well the more unpleasant part is definitely the vibe and service here.. the chef doesn’t seem to cook anything by himself, everything was prepared by other young cook or directly pulled from kitchen where we cannot see. And that night chef only talked to another group of guests from Brazil and barely talked to us. Worth mentioning there were only these two groups at that time. Not sure why chef intentionally ignored one of the only two groups of guests, but that clearly was very unpleasant.

And at last they got the wrong math on bill and tried to charged us 10k more yen.. the only single time I experienced this in Japanese restaurants.. and this was supposed to even be a fine dining one.. really it was a disappointing experience.

It was our first time having a Kaiseki dinner and it was fabulous! Every dish was delicious and the wine/sake pairing served by the chef’s wife who’s a sommelier was on point. The chef Shintaro was very friendly, he talked about himself and his restaurent and explained every dishes and ingredients in details. You can see that Shintaro puts a great amount of details and attention in the recipes and the presentation. It’s only a matter of time before Rakushin is awarded 3 Michelin stars! We will definitely go back to taste his new menu that changes with the seasons next time we come to Ōsaka.
