A little hidden gem inside the city and preserved nature.

I was actually just walking around and saw this interesting area so I walked in. Discovered by chance and paid a little fee to enter. Beautiful little park to get away and clear your mind if you want something relaxing to do away from the city life.

It used to be an imperial garden, until the imperial family donated it to the country in 1945 to allow public access. It's large, and they close early enough with some paths being totally unlit and covered by foliage so we nearly got lost.

But there's a nice tea house in the middle of the park (matcha wasn't good, but you're paying for the seat and the view anyway). ¥300 entry per pax for adults, and there's a stamp for all you collectors. Honestly it's decent but nowhere near my favourite garden even in Tokyo.

A wonderful garden with views over both the city and the sea. There were many butterflies in the flower garden with beautiful colours, and the tea house on the lake is also worth a visit.
It costs 300 yen to enter and there is a stamp by the entrance for those that collect them.

Went in the middle of a weekday afternoon, so I appreciated how quiet it was. Autumn colours were coming in, so there were some gorgeous flora to take in. Not the plushest park I've been to, but I enjoyed its simplicity.
