Unreal! Had to queue for a bit as there is a very limited amount of seats, but once we were in we were very lucky to sit at the counter and watch the chef (who is also the owner) to prepare the food. Family owned and very traditional! It tasted absolutely amazing! 100% recommend for a visit for anyone who comes to Tokyo.

Quality of food is definitely high, however, portions are rather small, and the “rosu” cutlet while extremely tender, has a high oil content, much like premium Wagyu, so can weigh heavy on the stomach after.

This small tonkatsu restaurant without even a signboard has been selected for the Michelin Bib Gourmand.

This place, converted from an old house, has a structure where you can see the entire kitchen from the counter seats on the first floor. You can watch the chef prepare the pork for tonkatsu, from cutting and pounding to frying, right before your eyes.

Since every dish starts from cutting the meat after the order is placed, the cooking time is quite long. Also, because the chef carefully handles the meat alone, the restaurant cannot accommodate many customers.

However, you can taste the chef's dedication and the best hirekatsu in Tokyo.

For your information, the shrimp tempura was also amazing. When the fried shrimp entered my mouth, I thought it was still alive.

Fantastic tonkatsu experience in a great setting in Nihonbashi. In all the tonkatsu meals this was hands down the best, both for quality and value. The sets are outrageous value and every dish is a winner. Don't sleep on the braised pork either. Photo of entrance will hopefully help others to find the door - as no signage.

Helpful tip: If you're bringing a stroller make sure it's the collapsable kind as you head straight up the stairs.
