We had an incredible dining experience!  I appreciated the unpretentiousness of this establishment.  It felt like having a private chef in a warm home setting.  He is a one man show and skillfully prepared a delicious multi-course meal.  He even offered to call us a cab and escorted us out after our meal.

Person the chef is incredibly personable, friendly and accommodating.   For god sake he called us a cab.

This place was unreal.  He is a one man show.  Yes you read it right.  He is making everything in front of you.  He makes you feel you are in his kitchen.

He has skills beyond

Some of the ingredients utilized I have never experienced and were incredibly unique. He did his best to explain everything.

Only 8 seats.  One seating.  Good luck getting in.

Sake, Sochu and plum wine were great.

Just had dinner at Jusyuu restaurant. The food is incredible! At Jusyuu Japanese Restaurant in Tokyo, it's all about perfection – from the mouthwatering kaiseki dishes to the fantastic service. Chef Masaaki Senzaki's skills are off the charts. A true gem deserving of its Michelin star.

Verdict: Avoid at all costs
The restaurant is located in the nice neighborhood in Nishiazabu, where plenty of Michelin-starred restaurants are located.

Food: For 20,000+ yen, you get basically a meal of lots of fish and almost nothing else. Fugu, Unagi, Tuna, and some other fishes that we don’t recognize. These 8 dishes took more than 3 hours, which is not acceptable. Plus a dessert bought from other vendors.
I had a food allergy which I mentioned on the reservation form and reconfirmed with the server prior to meal, but still wasn’t accommodated.

Service: Non-existent but still charges you 10%, if you don’t ask the server what the dish is. They’ll not explain which is absurd. Foreigners are required to PAY IN ADVANCE on Pocket-Concierge but still the chef sent the initial bill with full amount.

Establishment: Restaurant is showing wear. The bathroom is dirty. The door is somehow left open many times with cold wind blowing in and nobody notices.

WORST OF ALL: The tableware is made of plastic out-layer, which one of the top reviewers had mentioned.

This restaurant used to have 2 stars and now 1 star, and will probably lose that soon. Again, avoid at all costs while plenty of good options nearby.

We had our dinner at Jusyuu last night and it was one of the best dining experiences.

Having lived in Japan for a few years and tried different type of Japanese cuisines, Jusyuu is the best Kaiseiki so far. The chef incorporates the menu with ingredients from Saga-Ken and Karatsu where his hometown is, offer a complexity and layers of different flavors with the freshness of each ingredient. It was almost a dining experience where the chef told the story about his hometown through his amazing cooking and dishes. We really enjoyed it! Highly recommend!!
