A must visit for any fans of cats or unique temples! It’s a quick enough walk from the station and there are tons of cat-themed businesses along the walk.

The temple is beautiful, combining nature and the iconic cat statues. There’s even a resident cat that you may be lucky enough to see!

Temple with a lot of the white cat figurines. Ranging from tiny size to big sizes. There are only two places with these cat figurines, at the start, next to the temple and the path way behind the temple.
It was crowded when we were there early morning. We spent about 1 to 1.5 hours here.
At the end you can buy your own cat figurines of various sizes.

A mission to get too but well worth it. Came here around 9am and was surprised there were not that many people. The crowds definitely picked up by 10am. The cat shrines are the main attraction and I thought they would be much more cats but the area is quite small. Still very peaceful to see and the surrounding areas are beautiful.

One of my favorite temples in Japan!
So unique and so distinct! It’s about a 30min train ride from Shibuya and once you get there, you’ll be amazed at how quiet, clean and tranquil the temple is. The biggest attraction are the cat figurines that has an interesting history behind it. We didn’t see any cats roaming around, but were mesmerized by the cat figurines all over the place. Once we were done walking around, they have a shop that sells the cat figurines (you can only buy one at that time) and charms.
Please stop by at this temple when you are in Tokyo, you will not be disappointed!
