Please don’t expect the same level of service and attitude here as you would in Japan.
If you adjust your expectations, you’ll enjoy the coffee and food more.

James Freeman, the founder of blue bottle coffee described the experience here as "drinking a mink coat" - this description is apt.

Coffee is expensive here, but more than just good drip coffee, you get to see the smartly dressed baristas brewing each cup - it's like a dance; you get to enjoy the coffee in exquisite porcelain cups and unique teaspoons; you get to experience kissaten in Japan.

The chiffon cake is also very good - soft & fluffy yet retains a bounce.

A must visit for coffee lovers; but if you are just looking for a hit of caffeine, there are alternatives that offer you a faster, more affordable option.

Very nice old school authentic Japanese cafe. They serve diff design cup set to diff customer . Wide range of collections of the cups design. The cake is very fine and nice . They roasted their own beans and coffee is nice too. Just admiring the ambience is also very satisfying . They don’t have English menu so need some google translator help.

Once upon a time I gave this place a 5 star. After visiting it several times they wait for you to order the hot drinks before saying the chiffon cake is “sold out “. Even if you come early and you can clearly see the slices in the fridge. My advice is to ask if it’s available before getting a table . Otherwise just don’t bother . It’s mostly sold out for tourists .They only take cash .  Many other places have the chiffon cake and are nice about it too . You can still smell the cigarettes since the smoke smoking room is unnecessarily indoors . Used to come here for the last 8 years but the service has seriously deteriorated. Won’t bother coming anymore.

What a cute little shop! It captures such a unique aura that I haven’t seen in other cafes or tea shops in Tokyo. There’s a high value placed on the tableware, which elevates the entire experience. They’re each so delicate and ornate, gives the feel that the owner puts in a lot of thought towards the customers. And that’s not to mention the drinks themselves are fabulous. The baristas put in a lot of attention as they’re making the drinks. But be forewarned, one of the baristas seemed really ticked off when I took picture toward his direction—I was taking a pic of the porcelain and he said to not do that and gave me the dirtiest glare I’ve ever seen. O_O
