Imagine finding yourself in Tokyo in a restaurant that, on our Saturday evening, only served 12 people for the entire evening. We had the night to enjoy our 8 course meal presented by a couple married for 19 years and running this restaurant for 15 years.

The menu is in Japanese but between the owner’s English and Google Translate, we did fine.

Our 8 course, at 13,000 yen, pictured below, was a delight, start to finish. Duck is their specialty and it occupies center stage.

Service was gracious and impeccable. It was an intimate and highly memorable meal.

We did an omkase course. The chef was so delightful and funny. His wife was also amazing. I have a disability and she ran outside with us to make sure our taxi came close enough to pick us up. She also helped me put my jacket on. We were stunned by the service. If everyone in the world was that kind, the world would be a much better place. But speaking on the absolutely delectable food, I’ve never tasted anything as good as the duck meatball soup I have had here. Also the miso soup! Wow! The fish was also fresh, and buttery smooth. The strawberry to end our meal I’ll think about forever!

The ambiance is lovely and relaxing too. It’s quite comfortable. I would highly recommend visiting if you get the chance and one day we will definitely go back. Thank you so much for a wonderful time!

What an adorable little restaurant with an adorable married couple running the show! The married owners, Chef Daisuke and his wife, made us feel welcomed and very well taken care of throughout our 9-dish omakase meal. We sat at the counter where Chef explained each dish to us in Japanese and his wife translated to English. She would also share fun/insightful anecdotes about the dishes and restaurant via Google Translate throughout the meal. It was such a cute little touch and you could tell how proud of the food she was.

My husband had to leave halfway through the meal due to getting sick (NOT because of the food, he had a panic attack) and they were both so considerate and actually worried for his health. They asked me if he made it home ok afterwards and even brought over a doll to keep me company :). They also asked if I wanted to keep eating his portions or if they preferred only one. The dishes were so delicious I kept having both!

I would recommend Koryori Kuhara in a heartbeat to anyone visiting Tokyo for any reason. Make sure you reserve your meal ahead to grab a seat!

We had been recommended this place by the Michelin Guide but were slightly disappointed. The husband and wife team were extremely kind and welcoming, and all the food was good but not super interesting or as good as other places we had been. Considering the price we did not think it was worth it.

Me and my husband had such a great time at this restaurant! Be sure to book online before going since it's a small place.

The food is great. Their specialty is a delicious duck with leek. But we also tasted some vegetables and fish we had never tried before. It was all very tasty with delicate flavours and well executed.

The restaurant is  run by a really nice couple. The wife welcomed us and explained each dish. We even talked a bit using the phone to help with the translations. And she made an origami right there for us to bring back home with us. We also went to compliment the husband for the food and he was so nice we even took a photo together.

We left very happy with the food and overall experience.
