This was such a unique and unforgettable dining experience! There’s no menu—instead, the lady running the place will ask how hungry you are and if there’s anything specific you’d like or can’t eat. She decides the menu and keeps serving dish after dish until you say you’re full. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience—the food was absolutely delicious, and the homemade umeshu, my favorite drink, was a standout. The warm hospitality and personal touch made it even more special. If you’re staying in Kawaguchiko, this is a spot you simply can’t miss!

5/5. One of the most unique dining experiences I have ever been to. A fantastic spot for home style Japanese cooking.

There is no menu. Nobi-chan (the owner) was extremely welcoming and asked if we had any food preferences, otherwise, they will serve a series of dishes. Many of the dishes itself are made with harvested vegetables from the area. Tuna sashimi was extremely fresh and everything we tried was delicious. Fantastic portion sizes.

As a group of 4, we were charged around $120 CAD (as of September 2024).

Absolutely worth a visit if you are in the area.

The owner lady is one of the friendliest and loveliest people, we have ever met.

You have to come here for a feeling of home and a sense of community, and the local feel. There is no menu, she will ask how hungry you are and if you have any dietary restrictions. Then we said to leave it to her to prepare the food. Everything was like eating at a local Japanese home made with food made with love and care by the most friendly family you have ever met.

If you like to try an authentic Japanese home style hosting , where the host showers you with her fabulous recommendations this is the place for you. There is no menu or price that you can see upfront. Hosts would ask for how hungry you are and if you have any allergies. And that is it. Start your journey of a fabulous Japanese food experience. Everything is home made including the Umeshu. The veggies are harvested by them everyday. We were three of us and had dinner for 2 hours . Menu included (my own description in absence of names): cucumber salad, tuna sashimi, cabbage potato mayo salad , full fish grill, a plate full of chilli, potato and chicken fries . We were extremely hungry when we started and extremely full when we left. We also had 3 Umeshu serve and 1 sake. Our total bill incl alchohol was 8700 yen , our host used a translator to communicate it was perfect .

Overall nice experience, wouldn't call it a restaurant, LET HER KNOW YOUR BUDGET IN ADVANCE.

This is a restaurant that doesn't refer to itself as a restaurant. The staff are family and try to make you feel at home.

Note that you will not know how much you will pay until after you've eaten, so unless you are willing to pay any price - ***you should tell the budget first.***
To me, the food wasn't the highlight and was quite expensive for what we got, come here if you want to eat at a place that isn't "formal".

The woman was nice and we appreciated her trying to make us feel comfortable (She told us her life story and struggles through life), but we didn't feel comfortable not knowing what dishes we are going to get and what their prices will be. Also, due to miscommunication, we received a dish that we asked not to get, and our request to replace it beared no fruit and we had to eat it or pay for it anyway.

We wish a lot of success to this restaurant, but a menu would allow a much more relaxed experience :)
