Ah Hei Bakuteh is located right next to the popular Sun Foong Bakuteh, and I noticed that it’s a Michelin-recommended spot.

I arrived around 9 a.m. and didn’t need to queue. Due to limited seating, sharing tables with strangers is common here. The restaurant is clean and bright, with the fragrant aroma of bakuteh soup filling the air.

Their bakuteh is served in a claypot, combining different cuts of pork. You can also request specific additions like pork belly and intestines to customize your dish.

Typically, bakuteh is served with oil rice topped with fried shallots, but here they only offer plain white rice, which I felt was a slight drawback. The soup has a strong Chinese herbal flavor with a noticeable sweetness and tastes quite good. However, the pork and pork belly weren’t cooked long enough, making the meat quite chewy and tough to bite. The fried you tiao pairs well with the bakuteh soup. Service is attentive; the staff refills the soup in your claypot without needing to ask, which is a nice touch.

Overall, it’s a decent bakuteh experience with good service. Parking is limited, so be prepared to park a bit farther away and walk to the restaurant.

Very popular due to the appearance on the Michelin Bib Gourmand guide. Expect this place to be busy, even during the earlier morning hours! You can customize your bak kut teh by selecting more lean meat or include/exclude intestines. Card is accepted. The menus also describe the herbs used, which is interesting. When I ask for extra soup, the cook did put some extra in my bowl!

One of the best bak kut teh in Bukit Bintang area. The soup is very rich and tasty. The pork so tender and soft, so good.

The braised pork belly also very good, juicy and soft.

This place quite big, quite comfy. Be prepare to queue to eat here but it worth to wait.

Braised pork belly melted in the mouth. BKT soup was herbal one and tasted pleasantly flavourful. Their seasonal vegetable (you cai) was too salty. Iced puer tea was sugar free. Love their sweetened herbal tea which tasted like a mixture of sugarcane and chestnut. Their dark sauce is great and green chilli is not too spicy. They accept a wide range of payment too.
