Saw some reviews and said the laksa was popular here in Penang, when we arrive before we were seated the staff ask what we wanted to order, I ask if we can see the menu first he told us there is no food menu and only point at the poster. So we just order one of each (not knowing the price😖) But Seeing the other reviews here they seems to have other dish? 🤔
Our favorite was Char Kuey teow, it’s very flavorful! Their laksa is abit different from other places🤔 it’s abit more to the sour side, even the noodles seems abit different. Their seafood amelette was tasty too, usually I don’t eat fishy stuff but it was ok for me. Overall their char kuey teow was one of the best we have tried in Penang during our 5 days trip.

Now this is a place worthy of having a Michelin Star for 2 years in a row! The Laksa was so superb that I had to reorder for the second portion, it's topped with several herbs & freshly cut red onions, poured with thick & fragrant broth with sardines as the base (but believe me that it's not fishy at all), i can have it for breakfast or for dinner and it's still will be one of my fav food in Penang.

The Char Kwetiaw was also delicious (had to reorder for the 2nd portion too), you can really taste the "char" and the spices, i feel like they made it bold & more flavourful than other char kwetiaw in the area, with generous toppings too

And they also offered several foods from the adjacent food stalls, i tried the prawn omellete & fried shitake mushrooms and they were also delicious!!

Not too crowded when we arrived around late morning. We were pretty quickly given menus. Ordered a bunch of the dishes to try.

The Char kuay tiao pretty good, Curry mee was good as well. The Rojak was decent. I would say the rest wasn't really to my taste or preference.

Another thing was we had difficulty getting extra bowls for sharing. I had to ask multiple times. The first few times, the servers just left and didn't come back.

Overall okay food at an okay price but nothing too impressive.

Less crowd today when we visit at around 12.45pm (sat) as compare to yesterday.

虾煎 flavour was awesome personally didn't like the starch in the normal 耗煎 but this one is very flavourful and paired with chili was a bomb

Char kway teow - have a very nice wok hei fragrance definitely one of the best I had in penang. Just a tad too spicy for me as I don't take spice well.

Penang Laksa is good too, broth is tasty. But overall, prawn omelette/虾煎 was the best for palate.

White coffee is very fragrant too

Penang Road Famous Laksa is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Laksa in Penang. This place was highly recommend by our Grab driver who gave us a list of places to visit and eat. The line was long when we got there and almost gave up, but it moved quickly. We ordered the Assam Laksa, Char Kuey Teow, and an omelette. The Laksa was a balance of spicy, sour, and slightly sweet flavors, with smooth rice noodles that had a satisfying texture. The Char Kuey Teow was my favorite! It was smoky and rich. The smoky food is what Penang is famous for.
