Really interesting place! It’s quite eerie and dilapidated so best to go with someone if you can.

The path leading to the Istana starts adjacent to the lamppost on Tyersall Road that has the ‘20F’ sticker on it. It’s a short steep bank you climb up (see last picture) followed by a path that leads through the trees. It’s a little bit overgrown and muddy but you can easily see where other people have walked before. The Istana isn’t far along this path and sort of just appears suddenly because it’s so well camouflaged by the vegetation.

There’s a lot of glass and debris all around so covered shoes would be a better choice. You can go to the second floor but the central wooden staircase is missing quite a few steps so be careful on this. Alternatively, there’s a concrete staircase just behind it. Maybe a good idea to make a bit of noise before entering the Istana so no wildlife gets startled and scares everyone.

It’s obviously private property but following the path from Tyersall Road I didn’t encounter any signs saying no entry or anything like that.

Tricky to get to! Google shows a green path, but it's really not there.
We entered between the 18F and 19F markers on Tyersall Avenue. The bank was a little slippy, but once you're over that, it's flat. There wasn't an obvious pathway, so you need to pick your way through with care. You'll be there in less than 5 minutes.
Take care inside and do NOT use the central staircase to get to level 2 - it's too dangerous.
Use the steps that you'll find to the left of the staircase, but still take care.
It's a remarkable building, and such a shame it's been left to rot :(

Over 9 years ago, there was a route starting from Tyersall Ave and ending at COMO Adventure Cove which can still be seen on Google Maps. However, the road is now hidden by the overgrowth, and the clearest path to the Istana Woodneuk is a beaten path from Tyersall Ave.

The path near the entrance is steep, so be very careful when you return. After you climb the hill, you can follow the blue paint markings to reach the building.

The building is quite dark (especially level 1) so do bring a flashlight. There are multiple staircases to level 2, but some are broken and blocked off by debris. Do not forget to visit level 2 as the environment there is amazing! Also, there are a lot of glass shards on the floor so you must wear covered shoes.

Amazing experience and one of the few abandoned places in Singapore. To excess the woodneuk you must go through a small pathway at Tyrersall Road nearing the Holland Road side at the right side of the road there would be a small noticeable pathway leading to the woodneuk . But be sure to wear long pants and bring bug spray along as there was alot of mosquitoes would recommend going in the afternoon to see the scenery around.

Easy access at any time of day, really amazing place to clear your mind and relax. Be sure to go with a partner/buddy. The ladder to the rooftop is pretty unstable. Wear long pants because the plants are all overgrown as compared to the last time i remembered going 4 years ago.
