Homely atmosphere. However on Valentines they kept rushing us and only informed us that they needed the table at the very end when we were still sipping on wine. Food was mid and only the steak was nice, burrata was almost non existent 😓 Very small portions too

The reservation system and service at this restaurant need improvement. I arrived for lunch before another couple but was seated after them, despite both parties ordering the same lunch set and the fact that lunch service ends at 3 pm. The server did not explain why the other couple was seated first until I asked. This left a negative impression, especially since I had made an effort to arrive on time, even taking a cab to meet the reservation. I was frustrated, and the server acknowledged this by offering complimentary wine.

On a positive note, the food was decent, though the portions were slightly small, and the pork belly was dry.

However, the restaurant's small space made it feel cramped, and there were a few instances of people bumping into the chair as they walked past. Additionally, I agree with another reviewer regarding the hygiene and cleanliness. The utensils were placed on the table, and I did not feel comfortable using them.

Once again, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Morsels. Kudos to the talented kitchen crew for delighting our taste buds and other senses with dishes so well presented and executed. Special mention must go to the super fresh and creamy succulent oysters, the duck dumplings as well as the noodle of the week (slow cooked beef ribs curry mee tai mak)!

Morsels is a quaint little restaurant tucked away in an obscure corner of Dempsey, away from the hustle and bustle. The setting reminds me of a manger/barn. Unassuming. The services from Fai and Poh Lin are very earnest and authentic.

The culinary offerings has its fair share of hits (more) and misses (less). It’s also an acquired taste because of the fermented sauces the chef likes experimenting on. I deliberately avoided the beef ragu because I received rather disappointed feedback from my family members who tried it.

Snack: was a prawn broth with cracker. I really didn’t fancy the prawn broth. The cracker was ok.

Appetiser:
Hokkaido Scallop carpaccio 7/10
Whipped Burrata Kale Salad 9/10

Mains:
Catch of the week : Barramundi 9/10
Noodle of the week: Fisherman Assam seafood Noodles 7/10 - the fish is way overcooked. I liked how the prawn was grilled with flat sole fish before added into the soup. This is a fusion take of Assam noodles. It’s an acquired taste.

Dessert:
Hojicha panna cotta 10/10 - not too sweet … it just hits ALL the right notes. Considering I am not a dessert person!

My family tells me the tiramisu is excellent too.

Ambience:
I really love how wine corks are being recycled as chopsticks stands and shells being recycled as a napkin weight.

The owner founder is clearly passionate about her craft, working with a very supportive staff team.

Morsels is a delightful Dempsey hidden gem, especially for those who are more adventurous and experimental with their food. I hope the restaurant will phase out/improve on the misses and keep the hits on the menu.

Pretty little place with lovely service staff and nice food. The fish dish was awesome, and the pork was melt in your mouth. Highlight for me was the dessert: lemon curd tart with preserved lemon. Something different but tasted so good. Will be back again. Cos I love this pretty place.
