Super good Hokkien Mee 👍🏼 super tasty with wok hei but a bit pricey & little ingredients. It's has a Michelin bib gourmand recommendation hence the long queue.

Don't be discouraged by the long queue - it clears quite fast. He cooks one big wok at once. So the me moment it's ready, the queue is cleared.

Bought from this stall when I was just a child more than 20years ago.

Could remember the smokiness of the noodles and the rich aroma of the prawn stock in the past.

Not really there anymore. Just average now. Maybe it’s due to passing down from one gen to another.

I didn’t appreciate that they saw them shouting at indecisive customer.

Super long queue but it moves very fast, we managed to get a plate of $6 HKM within 15 mins at 6pm.

The noodles were full of flavour. They didn't skimp out on the portion size or ingredients. One of the best HKM in Singapore for sure.

Definitely worth the trip down if you are a HKM fan.

This afternoon, I had a 2hrs of massage in the vicinity for my tired leg 🦵 + body ; after rejuvenated, it’s dinner time ! 😅😜

Came to the market and greeted my new friend bro, James Yong as he opened his stall and was slicing the banana leaves for his BBQ business and I decided let’s give his Hokkien Mee a try, little did I know that he actually goes to the mother’s stall to take for me, I ordered a $5.00 version.

Indeed, he literally “jumped Q” and bought on my behalf … that’s so “pai sei” lah ! I had thought he shall cook for me, what he meant was “he can short-circuit the Q” if order through him … that’s the power of networking ! 😮 🤩 👍 ⭐️

Had a quickie video clip 🎥 done ☑️ + photography 📱 and it simply tasted 👅 great as I chopsticks 🥢 the noodles 🍜 and savoury the goodness of the broth, richness of prawny 🍤 infusion that created the euphoria of the umami flavours; it’s the soul of the dish and the viscosity of the blending of noodles : yellow Mee + slightly agile thicker vermicelli, it was pre-fried b4 hand to create the softness in them … a generous portion indeed !😯 🤩 👍 ⭐️

It’s powerful chillies 🌶️, homemade and tweaked recipes for localised taste 👅 and texture was the other talking point, extra for me personally request and it’s heavenly great pairing ! With 3 Ang Har (red prawns 🍤) for its sweetness and robustness + quite a number of sotong; pork lard too but no pork belly ; James shared that his family decided to do away with Pork belly as more people become health conscious and some like it whilst some don’t … Thus, dropped it altogether …from the Hawkers’ mouth 👄 can’t go wrong and makes good business sense.

After finished my meal, I popped by at his mum’s stall and taken some photography and showcase the “majestic” feel of her standing and taking orders high up ! It’s been truly a heritage of family business of at least 3 decades or more … and happy to note even their grandson came to help as he did the pre-frying ; start them young ! (OJT since it’s school term break) …😮 🤩 👍 ⭐️
