Hard to find a great Italian restaurant in Singapore but this place does it well. Really enjoyed the ragu pasta, super flavourful. The focaccia starter was great as well. Lamb was soft but taste wise nothing special. Definitely planning another visit soon :)

First time dining at Solo.The meal was impressive - fish was  fresh and the beef was packed with flavor. The desserts were a highlight too - tiramisu and pear  tart were perfectly balanced, not too sweet and just right.

It's a small restaurant so can be slightly noisy if running full house.

The food at Solo ranged from decent to delicious. We had the festive set menu although I'm not sure what was the occasion. We had the foie gras as one of our starters and that was a beautiful dish for flavours, textures and balance. The focaccia starter was generous with the truffles but the bread was not a great focaccia. The duck confit rigatoni was okay, but very one note as a dish and could have been balanced with something of a different texture or a fresh bright note like herbs. Our mains of the wagyu steak and yellowtail fish were lovely, so no complaints there. The tiramisu for dessert was such a treat.

What let down the experience was the timing of service. There was a huge gap between ordering and our starters to arrive. The table near us was clearly unhappy because their food was taking a long time to be served. The gap between each course once service began was inconsistent. Table service wasn't warm or friendly. The staff acted like they didn't want to be there, and communication between the team was very poor with one wait staff clearing our cutlery thinking we had had our starters but the food hadn't even arrived. No apologies, just huffed off.

I think the kitchen team and chef are clearly talented and produce more than delicious food. But front of house is letting the entire experience down and at this price point,  that can't be ignored. I'd recommend you still try out Solo for the food but dine there with lowered expectations of the service.

(Edit 19 Mar) Very impressed that the manager Angela followed up with apologies and didn't have any excuses for the staff's performance. We can all look forward to improved service at Solo!

Best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. Lamb chops are so delicious, the noodles are also good.The rose and sweet wine is fantastic! All is so good! Must come back again!
