A big selection of hawker food in a relaxed atmosphere. Was well worth the taxi ride here. Was a better layout and not so hot and stuffy like most hawker centres.
Loved the area, can walk around and has a really good vibe. The buildings are art Deco. Seemed like a lot of cafes n bakeries around.
Will be back.

This is my gf’s favorite place to shop for groceries and to eat here.
Food: 5/5 - you want to look for the long lineups cuz it’s where the tastiest food is. We lined up for tofu sweet dessert but it was sold out in a few minutes. We also lined up for 20 minutes at the vegetarian place which the food was to die for. Check the photos for the vegetarian place, the best fresh specialty chicken and meat place.
Service: 4/5 - quick and easy. You need to pay for everything by cash.
Atmosphere: 5/5 - the hawker place was clean. There was a sink to wash your hands. Etiquette was you are responsible for clearing the table and to bring your dishes to the cleaning area.

I would love to come here again and try out the other food stalls with long lineups. Note not all food stalls are there daily.

A really busy food court on the first level (one of the first restaurant on the right side is recommanded by the Michelin...) with local food. A market on the ground floor with beautiful flowers and food of course.

Its a standard market with fresh produce below and food stall at level 1.

Disclaimer, i am Malaysian and have Malaysian taste buds.

I really really like the desserts. Both the cendol and sea coconut with ice jelly were fantastic. The old folks that sells it are not even a bit friendly but hey the food is good and my wife agrees with me.

I ordered an oyster omelette or also known as oo-chien. I love it too. My wife didn't like the oyster but the omelette itself to her was great. For SGD6, i have no complaints about it. The old man was a slow mind you.

I also ordered the Mala hot and sour noodle soup. My wife said it was ok ok. I think it was above average. The portion was huge, the spice was there. The numbing mala effect was mild but sufficiently to tingle. There was body in the soup but wasn't too sour at the same time. The owner is from mainland China.

The siew yuk rice or roasted pork rice was slightly disappointing. The sauce was thick but too mild. Its slightly sweet, not sufficiently salty, nor was it flavoured enough. The pork was ok.

The pork throttle rice was a bit disappointing. Sorry but this one really got nothing good to say.

I love the atmosphere here. For a market, its clean and comfortable.

A typical place to get some of the best local Singapore Street food served really by locals instead of "foreign talents" like you see in most food courts. Most stalls here have a long history from the old smoky Tiong Bahru Hawker Center & faithful patrons, too.
Everyone have their own favorites, so you do need to source for your own. However, it you can not decide, just follow the queue because some stalls just have amazing queues that never stop. Am posting a few of my personal favorites for your reference. Price tagged reasonable  slightly below the usual foodcourts. Nothing is cheap in Singapore... lol...
