Today was the perfect opportunity to visit the Chinatown Heritage Centre, especially since we missed the soft launch. We had no regrets booking our tickets online and making the visit. Although our reservation was for 3 PM, we arrived earlier, and the attendants kindly allowed us entry.

It was a quiet afternoon with fewer visitors, giving us the chance to explore at our own pace, read the exhibits, and take photos without obstruction. Our first impression was that the place is well-maintained and clean. It was truly an eye-opening experience to learn about Singapore’s history and the struggles of early immigrants who arrived in Nanyang, hoping to find prosperity.

This heritage centre is an insightful visit, especially for younger generations, as it provides valuable knowledge about our ancestors who settled here. The centre also offers videos that showcase historical events and experiences. However, visitors should be mindful when walking down the narrow and dimly lit staircase—we chose not to take the lift.

Overall, it’s a highly recommended visit for anyone interested in Singapore’s rich heritage.

Nice facility.  My visit was during the soft opening and there were some technical difficulties checking in a party of 30 with a single pass.  Once that was overcome they realized there was a issue with maximum capacity so we had to wait a few minutes for others to move through.  Aside from these small logistical issues, it was an interesting exhibit and a nice escape from the heat and tourist shops.

Brought my parents here to relive their childhood memories, and the exhibits felt incredibly real. They really captured the essence of old Chinatown, and it was nice seeing my parents reminisce.
The queue area was a bit warm, and things felt slightly disorganized. Also noticed quite a few visitors being turned away because they didn’t know pre-booking was needed for the soft opening. Clearer communication would have helped.
Overall, a meaningful experience, especially for those who appreciate heritage and nostalgia.

A very interesting and meaningful trip.

Brought my mum down for her to revisit her childhood days... and my kid down to see the past. It was interesting when the kid heard stories and explanations from his own grandparents. The whole journey has been divided into 2 parts...starting from level 1 to 2 to 3...then from 3, to 2 to 1 again. Note that toilets are found on all levels but only at the side where the 2nd part of the journey was.

It was free for locals during the soft opening (which ended on 16 Feb). As the craze might still be going, advise to buy tickets beforehand.

My mum told me about this place having a soft opening promotion for local and tourist. FOC for local from 24 Jan till 16 Feb 2025. It's advisable to book your tickets online, you may also try to walk in and book depends on availability. There are 3 levels inside. Fully air conditioning, very interesting real life display knowing and understand how is life back in early SG. My mother is very happy and share with me her story while seeing all this exhibition.
