The food is really good, but it’s not clear why they have a Michelin star. Honestly, I feel like they will lose it soon, so my recommendation is to wait before going here. Maybe the price will fall?

The vibe is of a regular cafeteria. No explanation of the menu or dishes, no one offering to bring more drinks when we run out. No one comes to offer dessert after food. No one comes at all. Sad.

I assume their set course did not earn them their 1 Michelin star. 100% not worth $3800 per person. I think they basically took elements of a la cart dish and put them together. But the flavour is quite disjointed and mid. In total, I give the first appetizer course and the lobster a passing grade. The fried shrimp shaped like fish is cute but greasy and flavourless. The pork ribs has a nice texture and flavour which would’ve been good if it’s not getting cold. 佛跳牆沒有拉絲但味道還可以。 steam cuttlefish ball has good texture but again little flavour. The eel on oil rice is fishy.

Now onto service… the service is clumsy. Server would carelessly bump into patrons. Asked for drink menu which never came. Not a single course was introduced. They would serve you food over your shoulder. Change plate then immediately take it away as they realized you don’t need it.

It located in a very grand hotel. The restaurant is clean with good ambience, staffs were friendly and helpful. We ordered a lot for just 2 of us. I would say all foods are great and tasty.
If you are a Singapore Airlines PPS member, you can ask for a form to fill up to earn mileage points. Awesome!

Not sure if i went on a off night (Wednesday) or my expectations were too high given it’s a Michelin star restaurant. Restaurant was 2/3 empty and i had a 45 min wait. I ordered taipei style chicken and sweet and sour fish filet (both recommended by their menu). Also two veggies (tomato and spinach and sigua). Only the chicken was exceptional. The rest of the dishes tasted pretty run of the mill. Service was also run of the mill, nothing exceptional that would make me think it’s a Michelin star restaurant. Ambiance was really pretty. Bill came out to 2700ntd for myself. I’m happy to pay more for better food and service but not really here to look at pretty lights. It didnt feel that much better than other taipei restaurants but you end up paying a lot more than say if you just went to ding tai fung.

Excellent food, well deserving of their Michelin ranking year after year. Everything tasted fresh and not overly greasy or seasoned which I loved. The White Water Snowflake veggie dish was especially wonderful - we don't have those particular vegetables in the US so it was definitely a special taste and texture. The braised beef short ribs were also incredible! Also loved the mushroom in clay pot dish.

I'd gotten spoiled by most of the service in Taiwan so I expected a place like this in its extremely grand digs to have great service but it didn't. We were ignored until I flagged a waiter down to order and then I again had to catch someone to pay at the end.

The hotel the restaurant is situated in is opulent as heck but the restaurant itself is pretty standard Chinese banquet style with very ordinary decor.
