Beautiful Buddha temple.

The entry fee is paid in cash 50 Thai Bath.

There is no Que, so you can easily walk in and pay the entrance fee.

The temple is large, with a lot of buildings around and the main Buddha temple in the center.

It does attract a lot of visitors but you do not get caught in the crowd as this is a large temple and people keep moving around.

The temple is easy to find as it is really high. We were advised to visit it at sunset, to also experience the monks chanting, however we didn’t have enough time. It was not that busy and every part of it is an experience of its own. There are trees with orchids and suculents playfully growing on the premises.

The temple is incredibly beautiful! It closes at 10 PM. Visiting in the evening offers a different kind of beauty with stunning lighting decorations. The temple is very clean inside and is a highly sacred place that people deeply respect.

An impressive place in the center of ChiangMai. The remains of the old temple are very impressive. It must have been a great temple at its time.
The new temple is nice in a modern design.
The only disappointment is the shrine of the city pillar, which does not allow women to enter.
The reason given is for me outdated, but I'm just a guest and respect the local custom, however hope that will be changed one day.

Wat Chedi Luang was originally built in the 14th century.  It was partially destructed in 1551 due to earthquake. The temple has been rebuilt in 1990 it's very colorful and stunning, especially the serpents at the entrance. There are several other important monuments in the complex,  most important one is the City Pillar. There are some huge trees around which enhances the beauty of the complex.
