Very calm and quiet place. But you need to walk or take a bike to see that. Take a bus to the last station. Then you will walk at the end of the island and you will see. Many people didn't go there more far and it's the reason they said there's not much to do. You should explore. There is nature, birds, flowers, sea, horses, cows, cats and dogs. But you must do some effort not only to complain. Best to take a boat in the morning then you'll have more time. Only sad thing is, there is lots of trash and graffiti on the stones. It's so shameful. But because of people.. yes there's almost no bins for trash, but that's not excuse. I hope more people will appreciate it.

Just like the other reviews. I saw people saying it is not worth the visit. Not true. Scenic ride with boat from Kabatas for 60 lira one way. Takes about 1,5h. The island is adorable, full of cats and flowers. The downtown is busier with restaurants, people and shops but still pretty good compared to Istanbul. If you walk or take bus to the other side of island you will see peaceful almost empty nature. Beautiful viewpoints that are a bit hidden. We saw cats, dogs, cows and horses. There are tiny electric buses that are reliable. A bit difficult to speak English but you can make it work. I was so pleasantly surprised we actually went to the island twice.
Bus ride 40 lira. Top up your Istanbulkart in downtown.
There is a problem with trash all over the island which is really shame but blame the people! Next time I would love to spend even more time exploring.

Try to catch the ferry in the morning to have a time touring the island. Unfortunately, most of the places we wanted to see were closed, but still, you can rent a bike and go around to see the available attractions.

Many people told us that visiting this beautiful island wasn’t worth it but we found out it’s 100% worth it . you have to visit this amazing quiet special island I was obsessed with the houses and palaces there
In addition to the transportation to the island that was super fun in the ships wich took us almost 2h or less
While you’re in the ship you’ll see Istanbul’s
Most important palaces and houses that are close to the sea including the famous bosphorus🇹🇷🫶🏻

The Island is beautiful and the surrounding is so colorful and vibrant. The Island is clean and green. This place doesn’t have any buses or cars, you can cycle to go to places. The greatest attraction is a Church 2000ft above sea level.
