We visited this lovely palace in Dec. slightly crowded but everything was smooth. You can opt for a self guided tour at the entrance. Lots of beautiful artefacts and interesting architecture to see. We spent around an hour or slightly more in the palace. There is a cute little cafe inside which serves one of the best desserts.

Coming to the palace in the middle of January meant that I didn't have to Q for tickets, and the palace was quiet empty. As such, my self guided tour was quite smooth.
Its a beautiful palace, it took me about 90 mins to walk around it at my own pace. I can imagine it taking longer if it was busier there or if you used the audio guide.
The cost is 1500 TL for a foreign adult at the gate. I struggled to find accurate pricing online. But that's the cost as of January 2025

In my opinion it’s quite a pricey ticket for foreigners. Locals get it for only 200 lira whereas we had to pay a lot as a foreigner :/ beautiful location but you’re not missing out on much if you choose not to go :) still enjoyed regardless!

This palace is amazing. If you visit in Istanbul for the first time I would recommend you to come here to get experience once. It’s going to be worth your time. You’ll probably spend around 1-2 hours inside the palace and harem. The audio guide is available for free but you must prepare the identification document for the service and they will return it back
