Dining at La Maison 1888 was an exceptional experience. The Gourmand Menu offered a perfect balance of flavors and textures, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill. I came to this restaurant without any expectations. Having dine in many Michelin restaurants however does play a part in my assessment of the food, service and the restaurant in general.
I write this after reading several other reviews and I'm inclined to agree that the food here is nothing short of just a typical french meal dressed to impress but unfortunately forgettable. I'm not sure why the "chef" in the kitchen is doing what he does without careful thoughts about the repurcussions of serving the dishes he did with a high price point to boot. Patrons will naturally have an elevated expectation on taste, plating, special ingredients and overall uniqueness. I feel bad to say that the entire 8 course that I had was unsavory and I walked away quietly disgruntled. Except the langoustine - that was the highlight for me. Every other dish was prepared similar to any other French restaurant and the plating did nothing to help.
Service from the local staff was the only saving grace in this restaurant unfortunately, and Nina the assistant restaurant manager was very eager to please and get feedback.
I had a photo of their table cloth being oddly touching the floors which looked really sloppy if not custom made. The toilet was also one cubicle that didn't exhibit hygiene as first impressions even though I understand they are likely trying to retain that old colonial charm.
Overall I will say that you should probably avoid coming to this restaurant unless you intend to spend frivolously, and just want to eat French. Otherwise it might be better to have a much pleasant meal in other restaurants within the hotel or Danang.

The most opulent fine dining experience hands down in Danang. It's like being transported into the past. Michelin dining at its best. The staff are all well trained and super attentive.  Food is like art. Will come again.

I had high expectations for the food, thinking that a Michelin-starred restaurant would surprise me. However, what surprised me was how the quality of the food fell below acceptable standards. There was nothing remarkable about the dishes; they were so forgettable that I doubt I would ever want to try them again. The prices were extraordinarily high, but I was prepared to pay for a premium experience when I walked in. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment. The last time I had it, it wasn’t this bad.

My recent visit to La Maison 1888 with a business associate was set against the backdrop of its sophisticated and cozy interiors within the InterContinental Danang. The setting promised an evening of fine dining elegance.

The ambiance and service at the restaurant were impeccable, truly living up to its classy reputation. The staff was attentive and ensured we had a comfortable dining experience. However, when it came to the culinary offerings, I found the dishes to be pleasant but average, especially considering the price point. For what we were paying, I had anticipated a level of quality and taste that would surpass the ordinary, which unfortunately wasn’t met.

I believe in giving credit where it’s due, and while the overall experience was well-curated, the food did not quite align with the high standards one would expect from such a reputed establishment. It was a decent meal, but with the prices suggesting a gourmet experience, it’s fair to say that the offerings didn’t quite hit the high note expected.

In all fairness, dining here is more about the complete experience rather than the cuisine alone. For those considering La Maison 1888, it may still be worth a visit for the atmosphere and service.
