I went here with my friends for a birthday and Caitlin was one of the best parts of the night. She is such a safe and comfortable person. Was so professional and really looked after us.

Hot and sweaty low ceiling club. Reasonably priced drinks. Security really friendly. Sound quality was okay.

Came here to see a specific DJ and there were many people there just for a boogie. Nothing wrong with that, but did witness a punter ask a Berghain resident DJ for “more songs with lyrics” 😬 if you’re going to cover up phone cameras, surely someone on the door can filter through patrons who’d clearly have more fun somewhere else.

When my phone was locked and I couldn’t do anything I asked them to call a taxi or Uber but the manager just told me to walk. They don’t fulfill their RSA duties. The security and manager made me feel unsafe

Door staff are legends. Bar staff are awful, they overcharged us for drinks and got defensive. Vibe was bare min okay. Tbh will avoid in future - would prefer to not drop cash (and so much of it 🥲) at a merivale venue. Club 77 has a lot of good local programming 😊 and from further afield too...!

So I was pretty smashed on a Saturday evening at some seedy-underground art event in Chippendale when my cohort sent me a text to come out to Chinese Laundry. I'm not one for clubbing, but being as inebriated as I was, I replied with an expletive followed by way too many exclamation marks - it looked something like "F*CK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Upon arriving at the corner of Sussex and King street, we had to carefully maneuver or way down a flight of stairs before falling into one of two (2) lines: "Guestlist" and "You're Paying Cover Dumbass"... unfortunately for us, we queued in the latter. $25 dollars later, we're walking into this grimy, balls-sweating, dark-as-night room with the loudest bass your ear drums can endure.. IT WAS AWESOME!!! Whoever the DJ was that night, he was laying down some pretty sick electro-house remixes. I made my way down the hallway to the toilets and guess what I found? Another room! A smaller room with a decent bar setup. The music was more down-tempo trance - a dungeon for druggies to chill out on whatever they're tripping on. Upstairs in the smoking patio, they had a DJ spinning Hip Hop & Top 40. Lighting is a lot better and there's a tiny dancefloor by the DJ booth if you're up to getting your groove on. Definitely a more relaxed area to chit chat with your friends and cool off before you head back down to break your neck in the main room. $25 is pretty steep for a club and this was definitely more fun because I was intoxicated. So fellas, bring your ladies here if you want to dance, not to have a romantic night out. Be sure to bring shoes you don't mind getting dirty and PLEASE WEAR SOME DEODORANT!!!!!!!!!!!!

No other venue in Sydney seems to cater to so many different genres. The downstairs area really does feel like a real club. Low ceilings, great speakers and loud music. While outdoors there's a fantastic beer garden which is big enough to let you breathe but filled with enough people to give it a buzz. Not to mention the cool air as you walk out from the hot inside area. Upstairs (when I was there last) had some RnB playing and so pertained to a bit more sleaziness on the D-floor. But it really does offer so many different alternatives for many different types of people so you can easily slip off and find some much nicer people to talk to! The drinks are quite expensive, but you'll be guaranteed a good night.

Easily one of the best dance clubs in Sydney, Chinese Laundry is renowned for its epic tunes and fast paced dancing. Music ranges from electro and R'n'B to house and dub-step. All the rooms are uniquely themed and attract a huge crowd, particularly on a Saturday evening. The underground dance room is intimate, if a little seedy. There's plenty to do and see at Chinese Laundry and with the pumping music, don't expect to rest your feet. If you're heading to this club, prepare to have a big night out as you're thrust into the crowds with the pounding music ebbing away. World-class DJ's regularly frequent Chinese Laundry, with huge events often advertised across Sydney. The bartenders are friendly, inviting conversation if they're not overwhelmed with customers. Most patrons are between the ages of 18 and 25. If noise is not your thing, it is best to go elsewhere.

This is definitely not a sit down bar, ladies don't expect to rest your feet intermediately during the night, and fellas, have some protein and carbs before you start your night here. Chinese Laundry, takes clubbing to 110, with a great downstairs area, which doesn't let anyone flake out, the vibe is go go go, don't stop... For a nice night head outside to the open courtyard, although you'll unfortunately have to wait in line for a while to grab a few drinks, they're worth the wait. Try the John Lennon cocktail..." It tastes so good once it hits your lips"

With all the hype surrounding Chinese Laundry, I did expect a better time than I had. The first time I visited, the whole upstairs portion was closed, for reasons that were not made clear to me. This resulted in having to spend all my time in the two or three rooms downstairs, which all played similar music. The second time I went, the upstairs portion was opened up, and I was greeted with some slightly different music to downstairs, which was more than welcome. If you like hanging around with a bunch of dudes dabbling in less-than-legal substances, this is the place to be. Nothing quite like groups of raucous men of questionable sobriety to set the mood, right? The drinks are reasonably priced, the music is loud and catered for various tastes, and the bouncers are friendly. Unless you're a raucous man of questionable sobriety... then not so much.

I have been to many clubs around the world, I enjoy techno, house, minimal, and all that is good; Chinese Laundry is one of the worst clubs I've ever been to. Terrible sound system, shit atmosphere, brutal people, and always 10 times over capacity. Honestly this is the worst place to experience electronic music. Save your $40 and put on an essential mix at home.

The Chinese Laundry is a bustling underground nightclub where music is everything! It is a very intimate ambience and I love the washing machines in the venue! they are my highlight. Drinks are fairly reasonable and the dress code is smart casual. It is definitely a sit down bar.

Set the scene: I'm resting briefly on a long couch lining the wall of Chinese Laundry. The two guys to my left are sniffing something they've taken from their pockets, rubbing their gums and wiping their noses. The couple to my right are having hideously drunken sex, jeered and cheered on by the room of wasted onlookers. Welcome to Chinese Laundry.
