Scored a day before reservation for an early dinner to celebrate birthday and Christmas with family in Melbourne before going home to the West.

We were looking forward to the duck and it did not disappoint. All the food were delicious. The drinks, especially Old Fashioned, was excellent.

We had a great table at the top on Russell St side with fantastic service. The ambience was buzzing with diners enjoying themselves.

Finally made it to Gimlet to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary. Fabulous evening...amazing food and wine, attentive and friendly service, perfect atmosphere. Ari was brilliant at looking after us overall, the lovely man from Chicago was superb at helping us match wines. Such an enjoyable evening...thank you

My partner and I had an incredible evening celebrating her birthday here. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated at one of the spacious booth tables, which was a perfect setting for the occasion. The food was delicious! Not over the top, just recognisable dishes done right. What truly stood out was the impeccable service. We waited for nothing, and the attentive staff made our experience even more memorable. This place is definitely a must visit!

I had the best birthday celebration at Gimlet yesterday. Everybody was greeting me left and right and the staff was extremely attentive, attending to our every need. Atmosphere was posh and fancy. But the definite highlight was the heavenly food and cocktails! Their signature Gimlet was so delicious - highly recommend! We also had one of the best steaks we’ve eaten here (T-bone) and their desserts are to die for!! I’m still craving for that Caramelized Brioche with Almond milk ice cream 😍 the best! We were so full by the end. Pricey but totally worth it!

The meals here seem to be nonstop, with an atmosphere to match. Excellent service and food. We enjoyed the meal and recommend Gimlet. Overall impression is that the food showcases quality ingredients rather than innovative cooking.  It was delicious.

The scallop appetizer is highly recommended.  Some of the main courses are individual serves, others are intended for two people to share. The t-bone steak seems popular and looked fantastic. We had a special dish of butter poached Murray Cod that was excellent frenh fries were average, but the salad was fresh and crisp, superb . Wine list is very good and the house gimlet, not surprisingly,  was wonderful.

Great meal that we will remember!
