Disappointing Stay at Grand Tirolia

Our experience at Grand Tirolia was far from what you’d expect from a supposed 5-star hotel. The food at dinner was absolutely horrible—bland, poorly prepared, and with no variety. To make matters worse, portions were strictly limited to one per person, which is unacceptable given the high prices we paid for accommodation.

The service was equally disappointing. Basic amenities were lacking—there wasn’t even an extra pillow available upon request! This level of service is shocking for a hotel that markets itself as luxurious.

The management is clearly out of touch and needs to be replaced. It’s evident that they are not prioritizing guest satisfaction or maintaining the standards of a premium establishment.

Save your money and book elsewhere. This is not a 5-star experience, no matter what their advertising might suggest.

Wow! Spectacular location and so close to ski fields. Staff are amazing without exception, with special mentions to George, the head (I assume) waiter for his warm yet efficient service and Cosmas, one of the ski field shuttle bus drivers, for his help picking us up when we couldn't call the hotel. Buffet breakfast is up there with the best, gym is top notch, the onsite ski shop is handy for rentals and the indoor-outdoor pool is a great way to relax in the afternoon. Rooms have huge showers and bathrooms, big balconies and some very thoughtful additions like coat/shoe racks. You pay for the privilege but what a privilege it is to stay here. Highly recommended.

Overrated and Disappointing Experience

Grand Tirolia is far from the 5-star experience it claims to offer. The dinner was an absolute letdown—tasteless food, no options to choose from, and portions strictly limited to one per person. For the high prices we paid, this was completely unacceptable.

The service was subpar, with basic necessities like an extra pillow unavailable. This is not the level of comfort or care one expects from a luxury hotel.

The management is clearly not doing its job. The lack of attention to guest needs and the overall poor standards make it obvious that new leadership is needed.

For the price and reputation, this hotel fails to deliver. I would not recommend staying here.

We came here for the restaurant and it's a short ride from the center of Kitzbuhl. I can see staying here for a business meeting or during the summer to golf.  The drinks were great and the staff friendly. Only negative are the tvs through out the bar and restaurant that have fake fires in a fireplace. So odd!  We are in Austria! Let's have some real fireplaces! That was a miss in their gorgeous design of the bar and restaurant IMO.

I recently stayed at Grand Tirolia, and I must say, it fell far below the expectations of a 5-star hotel. Here’s why:

Lack of Service and Quality: The hotel seems to be severely understaffed, resulting in slow and inadequate service. For a supposedly luxurious experience, this was unacceptable.

Terrible Dinner Options: The dinner was a disaster. The lack of variety was shocking, and we weren’t even allowed to order an extra dish without being charged extra. To top it off, no one informed us beforehand that there was a "maximum one meal per person" policy. It’s absurd for a 5-star hotel to impose such restrictions on guests.

Billing Issues: At checkout, they attempted to scam us with an additional €1,100 on the invoice for so-called "packages" that we never requested. Only after we firmly stood our ground did they remove the charges. This behavior is both unprofessional and deceitful.

Overall, the experience was far from excellent. The lack of service, poor dining options, and billing scam completely overshadowed any positives. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a true 5-star experience. It was a major disappointment.
