Stayed here for two nights and loved it! The staff at the front desk were very kind and I personally enjoyed the area! It is just a 10 minute walk from where the FlixBus drops you off and about 5 minutes from north station!

You can easily walk to Grand Place in 15/20 minutes and the walk is quite enjoyable!

Right in front of the hotel is a beautiful botanical garden and it makes for a nice place to hangout!

Besides that, it is located in the red district of the city, but that is all very easy to avoid!

Overall, I had a great experience!

I recently stayed at Best Western City Centre Hotel and was thoroughly disappointed with my experience. One of the most basic expectations when booking a hotel room is that a complimentary breakfast is included, especially given the price point of this establishment. When I checked in, the receptionist assured me that breakfast was included in the room rate. However, the next morning, when I went to get breakfast, I was informed that it was not included and would cost extra.
Overall, my stay at Best Western City Centre Hotel was underwhelming, and the lack of included breakfast, coupled with the misinformation from the staff, left a sour taste in my mouth. I won’t be returning, nor would I recommend this place to anyone who expects a basic level of hospitality.

We stayed at the Best Western City Centre for one night and certainly for €76 per night (Booking.com w/discount), it was a solid budget-friendly option. While it’s not a luxurious hotel, it provides a decent, clean, comfortable and functional stay.

The Good:

✅ Rooms – The rooms are small but comfortable and have most essentials, though they lack a refrigerator. The bathroom was surprisingly better than many other hotels we’ve stayed in.
✅ Location – Well-situated and within walking distance of key areas in Brussels.
✅ Value for Money – At €76 per night, the price felt fair for what we got. (For what it offered, the max we would have gone for is about 90-ish, we got a discount through booking though)

The Not-So-Good:

❌ Strong Chemical Smell – The strong bleach/mold remover scent was noticeable, especially in the bathroom specifically. This was also present in the towels which takes away the experience but the bed sheets had a good smell. Overall, It was tolerable, but for sensitive guests, it might be an issue.
❌ No Refrigerator – This is inconvenient for longer stays. Altho absolutely not issue if you are having a short stay like we did.
❌ Overpriced Breakfast – At €17 per person (15 if pre-ordered), the hotels breakfast didn’t seem worth it. We skipped it and found a full English breakfast elsewhere for €15. If they want to justify the price, they should either improve the breakfast presentation, advertising or market it better.

Final Verdict

This hotel delivers what you’d expect from a three-star property. You don't have to worry. If you’re looking for a clean, budget-friendly stay in Brussels, this is a solid option.The location is good, the rooms are fine (though missing a fridge), and at the right price, we’d stay here again. However, be prepared for strong cleaning smells, no fridge, and an overpriced breakfast—but if those aren’t dealbreakers, it’s a good value stay.

The location of the hotel was perfect as in a few minutes you could access the city centre and it was convenient to even visit other parts of the city. The rooms were very good, well furnished and clean. But the welcoming experience could not have been worse than it was, from the one receptionist that we encountered that day, Alexina.First of all we had had booked 3 triple rooms as we were a group of 9 people, 3 women and 6 men; as we talked to the receptionist she informed us that it was not possible to have the rooms but just double ones. It took a call from our tourists agency to kind of fix the situation. If this was not enough, she told us the next day that we could not have breakfast when we had it included in the price. Once again we had to talk to the manager about the situation. These were a couple occasions but overall she was really rude and arrogant. It really impacted our experience as we did not expect this kind of treatment at all.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for the price asked. The corridors and room had an unpleasant smell (and so had the towels, even though they were all clean), the (very basic) breakfast was unsustainable with lots of different little plastic-packed items, a breakfast room window could not be closed so it was super cold and windy (was fixed before the next breakfast), a power failure in the hotel took place one evening (I was told this was fixed, too). Together, and while paying 125 Euro per night, this was super frustrating.
