I had an amazing trip to Split thanks to my stay at Sperone. Comfortable rooms, great air conditioning for the hot summer days, and a beautiful pool. The staff was spectacular and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had what I needed. Will absolutely return in the future!

Great location, room was lovely with comfortable bed. However the service from the hotel team was terrible and let the hotel down, as it otherwise could be considered a great hotel.

The hotel staff were passive aggressive throughout the stay with a plain disregard for paying customers. For example when we arrived and rang the bell a staff member came out, opened the door and walked away, no hello or welcome or any words exchanged. Only one key card was provided for the room, the key card doubled as the electricity switch and front door key. At one stage I left to go the market and left my girlfriend in the room with the electricity on. I asked the receptionist for a second key so I could use the front door with it continuously locked. The receptionist rudely told me that she had already given me a key, I told her that I did not want to leave my girlfriend with no power in the room. I was told that there was no problem and someone was always on the front desk to open the locked door, so no need for a second key. So I left, when I returned and rang the front bell no one was available to open the door, I stood outside for 10mins. Terrible service, how a “Luxury hotel” cannot afford to print two room keys is amazing.

Furthermore the key that was provided did not work, when we tried to use it later that night. Again I was left outside ringing the bell. When another staff member opened the door he asked why didn’t we have our key card. We explained that it did not work and were told that happens all the time.

The door is also not fitted properly, be careful when opening as if you open too quickly you will bang your fingers against the door frame. The handle of the front door needs to be refitted. A massive safety hazard.

Spa was a nice experience, allowing private entry was a nice touch and added a unique experience. However no water, towels or robes are provided.

Overall potential to be a great hotel but bad service lets it down.

Had a great 3 days here whilst in Split last month. This hotel is a beautiful hidden gem in the centre of Split. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times. Could not recommend this hotel more and would love to go again!

The location couldn’t be better, and it is taken care of so well you would think they had just opened yesterday. So close to everything yet quiet as can be. I am really impressed with what the architect was able to do with such an old building. The staff was really lovely to top it off.
