Selma was a nice spot for smørrebrød during my visit to Copenhagen. The flavors were well balanced and I appreciated that the dishes weren’t as salty as those I’ve tried elsewhere. Every dish had a good amount of acidity that pairs nicely with bread and other ingredients. The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the city!

The options were many but all that we ordered was good.
Definitely try herrings if you plan to visit.
We seated in the basement.. which was a bit disappointed, when there were many empty tables on the first floor. Probably for guests who reserved for testing menu?

Probably best service of our live as she was highly knowledgeable, helpful, and very caring to ensure we had a great experience.

Their rye bread is so unique and tastes awesome. It was one of my friend's first time eating herring and he loved it so much because so many of the herring bread options were both feasts for the eyes and the mouth.

The beef tartar was also a top tier dish and I wanted to eat it by the spoonfuls.

Would fully recommend coming here for a mix of both traditional and current. Totally try their unique alcohol that they pair with the bread (wasn't our favorite in taste but was an amazing experience and very unique!)

Delicious Smørrebrød! 10/10, and it looked amazing!! The beetroot and horseradish herring was a staff recommendation and has become my favorite. The seating area was a bit packed and quiet, so not the most relaxing atmosphere for conversation, but still a lovely experience overall 🫶🏻

The food is spectacular. The herring and salmon are of amazing quality and the flavours in each dish are outstanding. Of course the rye bread is lovely in itself. I loved to see kefir in the food and drinks menu.

However, be advised that a large part of the seating is in the basement. Not recommended for people with Asma or similar conditions. The restaurant is not flexible at all to change around between tables upstairs and downstairs.

When we visited the temperatures outside were not very hot but it was quite humid, which made the air quality in the basement very bad. I believe on hot summer days it would not be possible to eat comfortably downstairs.
