Had a fantastic time at Kappo Ando!
The food was outstanding, each dish better than the last, and the wine and sake were spot on.
Cozy atmosphere and excellent service made the night even better.

Tried in December 2023. Got the tasting menu and a few extra dishes. The owner was extremely nice and friendly and the food was generally good. The ingredients were clearly of good quality and you could feel the attention to detail and effort put into the food. The taste of the dishes ranged from okay to really good, but I wouldn't say that anything was particularly amazing.
Watching the yakitori being cooked was nice, but oh so different from what I saw in Japan. Here, the grill was very small and only a few skewers were being cooked carefully at any time, whereas in Japan I was impressed with the grill master's ability to cook dozens of skewers in parallel.
Overall, a pleasant experience, but not exactly a "must try*, in my opinion.

APR2024: a truly great modern Japanese experience - food was an experience, service was (almost) like in Japan, totally recommended for special occasions/celebrations. Decoration is quite modern - may not be to everyone’s liking - but it definitely contribution to the experience. For lovers of Japanese porcelain and handicraft, totally a great place to go to.

Absolutely an amazing experience - like every single dish, beautiful environment and amazing storytelling and service. You can only have the menu at this place - but definitely also worth the experience. If you are expecting an authentic Japanese experience, you will find quite a few differences but the cooking method is surely authentic. I like the way that Nordic ingredients and combinations are put into play at this place.

We went for the Yakitori menu, mixed skewers, on Sunday 10 March. Owners are extremely nice and friendly. They allowed for our little dog to join us for dinner. Fantastic wine selection, we also had a great sweet sake with our dessert 🌸 Highly recommended!
