Insanely creepy and heartbreaking. The exhibitions are very well executed with detailed stories. I recommend taking a tour to hear more history and specific spots in the prison. We didn't due to children that would most likely find the detailed accounts too disturbing. Overall very educational. If you feel or believe in paranormal activity then do your research before visiting.

If you want to know what happened in Estonia during the Soviet times in authentic surroundings this is a good place to visit. The museum tells sad tales about the people who became victims of the soviet rule. Please note that Putin’s Russia officially denies all these facts and states that Estonia joined the Soviet Union of its own will. The building itself is also breathtaking in all its sadness.

Unique experience of visiting a prison used by the communist regime. Its not just a prison, but a museum detailing the horrors which happened behind closed doors. A lot of information about the prisoners which were housed here, but only those which were jailed for political reasons. The museum is quite short, so don’t rush through it expecting a full prison tour.

It is a "sad" place where lots of people suffered during the last century. It is one of the places where you have to visit in order not to forget the past and be careful not to make the same mistakes in the future.
