Fantastic and very informative place. Lovely displays, great outdoor area and brilliant cafe. Worth the short drive. Also, there is a good walk to some lovely rapids just over the bridge, make sure you visit.

The museum is well designed and structured. It feels like anybody could find something for themselves here: would it be the archeological finds, the nature in Lapland, the WWII impact on Sami or their culture today. The outdoor section is also quite impressive, and it’s amazing that visitors are allowed inside some of the structures.

I would recommend to plan 1.5-2hrs of your time for a visit. We didn’t feel like there was a need to purchase the tickets in advance, and there was no problems with buying them on site.

The canteen on premises is very handy. They offer buffet lunches and the food was tasty and fresh.

A very interesting exposition dedicated to the local Sámi culture and nature. There is also a large outdoor exposition with a display of houses, animal traps and boats.
💡 If you are in Inari or the surrounding area, I definitely recommend a visit.

🚗 The parking lot is quite large, we had no problem parking here. Parking is free.
🪙 The entrance fee is not high.
🍴 There is a restaurant in the building offering a daily menu at a reasonable price.
🎁 There is also a souvenir shop. All in the style of Sami culture.

Fantastic, medium-sized museum with many different kinds of exhibits and things to experience. Well worthy of its award for 2024. I was particularly moved by the mixed media installations, with music, sound effects, art and video. My kids and teens were content for about 2 hours, but you could easily spend 3-4 hours here. Everywhere is accessible and multilingual. Worth the visit!

SIIDA - is the European Museum of the 2024 year. 2 parts - indoor and outdoor. Everything well prepared and organised. Very clean. Cafe, toilets and shops with local food and souvenirs available. Friendly staff. We are people who not always visit museums but this one is must see. A lot of facts, videos about culture. Ideas how they prepared all is absolutely fascinating. Great job. We loved it. Car park is for free for 4 hours.
