Incredible fusion of french techniques and African and Asian spices. The flavors achieved are very unique, along with the textures and mix of ingredients. A very unique cuisine being presented by a very talented chef. The work done there is a great example of what can be achieved by integrating different cultures and techniques. The knowledge base for such a wonderful menu is huge and should be applauded!

Amazing, delicious and creative food. Making a reservation online as a tourist does require a phone call to get the reservation confirmed which can be tricky. We really appreciated our evening and every course was well-executed. The service was appropriate and efficient but not at the level that I would expect for this type of restaurant. We were handed out the menu without any explanations on the menu or the different formulas. Nobody asked about allergies. The different dishes were brought to the table without a description except for the interlude small plates. (Here is the fish, here is the bisque) We wanted to finish with tea but the restaurant had run out of teapot.. .  I would definitely recommend otherwise because the food is worth the detour.

Petit Ogre is a cozy and elegant place that offers a fusion of African and European cuisine, with fresh and homemade products. The restaurant has a friendly staff, including the chef who often comes to greet the guests. Excellent quality, creativity and presentation of the dishes, as well as the service and atmosphere.

This was the first meal I had in France and this restaurant set the bar very high for the remainder of my visit.

The food is excellent and creative. There is a great display of technique but the use of various spices and flavours not traditional to French cuisine is thoughtfully used.

The service was attentive and helpful.

I would definitely come back.

We went to the petit ogre on the evening of February 15th 2025 for a dinner for two, where we took the menu Explorateur.

Overall the experience at this up and coming restaurant was pleasant, particularly regarding the innovative fusion experience flavors from Africa and France.

However, there are two areas in which I think the restaurant would do well to improve to be truly exceptional ; the service and the seasoning of the dishes.

Concerning the service, our reservation was for the first service beginning at 19:00, and while the waitor was friendly and welcoming, it took 39 minutes for our order to be taken, a much too long time to wait given the small size of the dining room.

In regard to the seasoning, our party had the shrimp dishes as an entree and I had the cod dish, and all of these in spite of the complex and new flavors, were lacking in salt.

The highlight of our experience was the topinombour soup as an entrée and the cucumber amuse bouche, which was a delight even for my husband who normally does not like cucumbers.

On the whole, this restaurant is an enjoyable experience for those looking to try something new, I would be happy to try the restaurant again with more attention to the service and the seasoning.
