A gem in the small quiet commune of Maxilly-sur-Léman. Exquisite food, thoughtfully and lovingly prepared by Chez Mathilde and her team. Each dish, using seasonal and locally-sourced produce, was stunningly presented. Warm and friendly service. A fine example of quality French dining.

Very dissapointed. This is the second time we come after an amazing first time a few years back. Except this time we came with our kids. Let me tell you, this place is NOT child friendly. It seemed from the start there was a dissuasive effort on their part by telling us that there are no child menus and that no dish would be changed for them. It started off nicely enough when they offered to do half portions for the kids and even a side of potatoes. But when you have children, especially young ones, it is normal that they are a little agitated. Ours did not make any noise though, they just were apparently smudging the windows with their dirty food-encrusted fingers as we were told. And watch out for the cushions that they might soil. This was basically what the owner told us. My wife, as politely as she could, retained her anger, took one of our children and got up and left, leaving half her dish and an uneaten dessert. It shook her to her core to be treated like this and it basically made her question herself as to her parenting skills. We have been to many restaurants with our children. They are used to eating out and, compared to most kids, are well-behaved. This is not a fine dining establishment, far from it. While the food is good, even very good, that doesn't entitle you to treat your customers like beggars off the street. The passive agressive way we were treated was an insult to us all. We are staying in a high-end family friendly hotel in Evian and will tell reception not to send anyone there. What's for sure is that this was the last time we set foot in this establishment. Shame on you. Please, Mathilde, translate this review (because her English is abysmal by the way) and do something about it. We don't go to restaurants to get told off. Especially when young children are involved. Especially when you just need to spray some window cleaner, sweep under the table and dust off some cushions after the service. Thank you and good night.

This is a Michelin star restaurant in the making. We were so impressed with everything we had. I had the beef tartare and really enjoyed it. Same with to the dessert. Everyone in my party loved their food.  It’s obvious they care deeply about the food they make.

Excellent meals, very friendly staff, small and cozy atmosphere. It‘s a small restaurant and it was my impression that all staff members have been deeply engaged to make the guests satisfied and happy. Parking is possible nearby, paying with creditcards possible.
