The Old Inn at the Village Blanc is like stepping into a time capsule. Where the kitchen lovingly recreates the authentic repertoire of family dishes with regional accents passed down through 3 generations of talented Mother Cooks before Georges BLANC.

The moment I walk in, I'm greeted by the warm ambiance of beautiful landscapes, open areas and a sunset getting ready to join us.

🍴Now, let's talk about the food! Each dish is a celebration of tradition and flavor. I can't resist indulging in the traditional Bresse Poultry with Cream, a dish prepared just as Mère BLANC used to make it. 🍷It paired perfectly with a 2021 Domaine Petitot Savigny Les Beaune "Les Pimentintiers"

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of L’Ancienne Auberge in Vonnas. Georges Blanc has done wonders generally for the French gastronomy with this foodie village. He is also coming to say hi to each table even in this brasserie (which is not the 3 Michelin star restaurants) thus props to him. Food is solid here and pays tribute to classic of the region (chicken of Bresses eg) but is abit overpriced in my humble opinion. Maybe better to save for the starred restaurant for a special occasion.
They also accomodated my Tesla charging on short notice. Overally I give thus five stars but would give four if it were for the food only.

Great ambience. Great service. Great food. Yes you’re paying for the name and the history. Yes it’s probably still over priced. And it doesn’t deserve the one and two star ratings at all. Our server even let these silly Americans take home our leftovers. 😂🇫🇷💕🙏🏼

If you want a very authentic representation of the local cuisine, you can’t go wrong coming here. You will pay a premium for eating at the original establishment of Georges Blanc’s family, but it’s well worth the experience. Very friendly and attentive service. Their volaille de Bresse with morels is a must-have.

Beautiful restaurant everything was amazing. The decoration of the room is great, nice garden view as well. The food was exquisite and the wine list with great choices. I am very happy we went and can only recommend it
