What do you rate a Relais & Châteaux that doesn't offer laundry service? The hotel charges 400EUR+ per night and yet you are out of luck if you need any laundry done, HOW? WHY?

The buildings are beautiful and the interior of the restaurant is absolutely amazing, the rooms can be a hit and miss as we stayed in two different rooms during our stay.

What you must be aware of is that both Dijon and Beaune are at least 30 minutes drive away, and there is absolutely no place to eat or drink in the surrounding villages.

This Abbaye exceeded our expectations by far. The place is literally a 12th century English style castle restored to its beauty. We got one of the Prestige rooms with a small balcony facing the lake and the garden. The whole castle and the surroundings were extremely scenic and peaceful. We had a lot of wine tasting tours planned out in Burgundy. So couldn't spend as much time as we would have liked here. We will certainly stay here again and would love to just relax in the gardens and spend time around the lake and the forested surroundings. Also the food is amazing here. We couldn't go to the gastronomic restaurant as it was closed during our stay but we ate at the Bistro and the food was outstanding. Everything tasted delicious. The staff was very nice and helpful. There are several rooms like the men and women's lounge, a music room with an old gramophone etc. Overall we had an amazing stay and can't recommend this place enough for anyone wishing to stay in a 12th century castle and experience some peaceful moments.

The entire hotel is very beautiful, with both the front and back gardens perfect for a stroll and very well-maintained. There are parking spaces with Tesla charging stations. The interior of the hotel is well cared for, featuring many antiques and meticulous details. The service at the 1311 restaurant is excellent, and the dishes are delicious.

The downside is that the rooms are somewhat old and there are no baby cribs available.

Our stay was magical. One of the most exquisite properties I’ve ever been to. Service was impeccable and highly personal. The cuisine was divine! Intimate, historical, serene, luxury…even accommodating for families. We will be back!

The grounds, the interior decorations and atmosphere were all excellent. We got engaged here at midnight during our stay. We loved walking the property and admiring the furnishings and decorations. Our dinner at restaurant Le 1131 was fantastic with great service. We will definitely be back and for a longer stay.
