Amazing bakery! Came at 7am for the he most warm, fresh and best tasting baked items I’ve had.

The prices are similar to NY where I’m from, but you cannot get this anywhere else, at this quality so I see it as justified.

The staff was patient with my limited French. This place should be listed as a UNESCO site, seriously.

Only the best pastries in Paris.

Enjoyed a selection of pastries this morning accompanied with some black coffee.

The pastries are fresh, and warm straight out of the oven. The selection ranges from traditional to more contemporary specialities such as berry and goats cheese wheels.

We thoroughly enjoyed our treats today, and will always return when in Paris.

The staff are lovely and helpful, speaking in English and delivering service with a smile.

Communal seating outside, allows you to sit and enjoy your treats with others.

Had to try this place given its history and the number of good reviews.
There was a short line but it moved fairly quickly - we visited on a Monday morning around 11am.
Prices are higher than other boulangeries and patisseries, given how famous/popular it is.
We tried a plain croissant (needed to wait 5 mins for fresh ones to come out of the oven), a berry escargot and a sacristan (custard sugary long pastry recommended by a very friendly curly haired woman working there). Portion sizes were bigger than expected and in hindsight I could’ve skipped the escargot. Try the plain croissant (very buttery and soft!) and the sacristan. Delicious!

This is my favorite bakery in Paris. The Sacristain is my favorite and I’ve never had a bad one despite visiting at various hours in the day. The fig tart is also amazing but has a very short season. The praline escargot is awesome if you get it fresh. And the bread has a thick, crunchy crust, with a springy interior.

It’s easy to find a good bakery in Paris but the coffee is lacking compared to coffee shops. Likewise, you can find great coffee shops in Paris but the pastries are lacking. However, Du Pain et des Idees excels in both: not only are their breads well-baked but they also have third wave coffee.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. I try to visit each time I visit Paris.

Tasty. We ordered a great selection and liked all. For the price, it would be better warmed. This bakery is one of the oldest in Paris. Line moved quickly. Nearby bakeries as good without the inflated prices but you must go at least once. My favorite was the pistachio twirl (pictured).
