Not good. Booked in advance, when we arrived the lights were out and it seemed closed. We Were then offered one choice and no menu. chicken and chips. Asked what we wanted to drink, again no menu, so requested a bottle of house red and were charged nearly 50 euros for the wine alone. So a very basic and weird lunch ended up being particularly expensive too. The 4.9 rating on google in no way reflects the reality. I wouldn’t normally review but I can only assume their google rating is some sort of fix, which is why we decided to try this place in the first place. A huge mistake. Bordeaux is full of great places, unfortunately this really really is not one of them.

I keep going back to this restaurant. Her menus are inventive. They are authentic but not boring. The welcome is as if you’re family and you will just be delighted with the way you’re treated here. They have a great lunch option that very well priced. Great neighborhood restaurant.

Came here with high expectations given the 5.0 ratings, but it's over-rated for sure.  Food was ok at best.  Pintxos was good, entrocote was nice, but fries were soggy, and chef didn't bother to heat up the sauce, which was cold.  That was a pity, cos it did taste good, but when you have steak and cold sauce, well .... The gnocchi was just too rich with the gorgonzola cheese and no acidity to cut the richness.  Also, don't bother to come if you don't at least speak basic French.  They were kind enough not to charge for the starter cos we were not able to finish the gnocchi though, so thumbs up for that.

After fleeing another restaurant in the area (Casa G) for their appalling service and hair in our food, we landed at the Athénée. Bérengère , the owner, welcomed us warmly, and we were seated immediately upon arrival. The atmosphere was great, the food was good (simp, nourishing and tasty) and the conversation even better. We really appreciated the thoughtfulness and kindness and will certainly be back !
