Used for a food stop on a long group cycle ride. We did not want a large meal so the owner very kindly made us some baguettes. The location and views were perfect and the service we received was excellent. Very highly recommended.

a classic French-looking idyllic hotel-restaurant in Barcus. It was located in a beautiful village among the rolling foot-hills of the Pyrenees, which was an absolutely stunning location! Peaceful and quaint. The food at Chez Chilo was outstanding. The dessert is also a must have! We had the set menu and tried the great local wine. It was an elegant atmosphere and the staff were friendly.
The room could do with a little upgrade and that was the only thing which was a little basic. Although the hotel is located by the road, it wasn’t noisy at all. It was a very quiet village and lovely to wake up to the sweet bird singing in the morning! The French breakfast was good quality. Thank you.

I can’t believe we were thrown out of the restaurant. Who the heck is that Madame Chilo!!!!! It is just because your husband is a good cook that you can arrogantly choose who to eat in the restaurant or not. We made a reservation for 9.30pm but was told that we were late on arrival!The contrary when she agreed it was fine for 9.30pm when we call hours before that!! That Madame Chilo said the restaurant normally closed at 9pm and made an exception for us to be there at 9.30pm, we were there at around 9.34pm due to driving for 20 mins in the dark along the mountain road, just to be dismissed on arrival. I was wondering why the other 6 clients are still eating their main dish at our arrival time if it is supposedly to be closed at 9pm. She wouldn’t care a bit as if she has made her turnover! I wish I could take the 1 star away on this review as because of her the restaurant doesn’t deserve a single star. I wish that no other person like her exist in any restaurant in the Basque Country or any restaurateur should have her! Furious 😡
