The place is not made for hot weather as inside and outside dining areas were uncomfortably hot. We ate inside and waiters focused mainly on outdoor tables so it took a long time to order dishes and request more drinks.
Food was good but not exceptional. Driving all the way for the food was not worth it. I've been wanting to visit this place for a while and it turned out to be disappointing.

What a beautiful place. We did the wine tasting tour and was excellent. Our guide was informative, engaging and passionate about the vineyard (produces about a million bottles a year). .At the end you get to try a few of the wines which are explained by the guide in detail.
In the restaurant we had the set three course meal for €38 each, which when you taste it, is very much worth it. Had an amazing mushroom soup for starters (had 3-4 choices from each course. Setting for the restaurant is beautiful. Would recommend a visit

We stayed in the chateau for 5 nights and ate at the bistro twice.
First night was lovely, although they said the table in front of the fireplace was booked but no one arrived during service time which was odd…
Second time I ordered the pasta with pumpkin sauce. I am afraid that was one the worst dishes I have ever had in my life. It arrived warm to cold and there was a very little amount of sauce; I couldn’t eat.
I was still polite when they asked me why I left all of it on my plate so though there was no real apologies for that! :) It is embarrasing for 5* hotel restaurant to charge for something not edible. I think it should just be off menu. Staff are nice and helpful, atmosphere is lovely otherwise.

Oh wow if you ever want a taste of what the Chef and his team of this incredible Chateau de Berne can do get the Menu de Chef at the Bistrot! For an affordable price combined with great service you won‘t be disappointed!

Solid meal and this was just a random find on our drive. Long drive on to the property, but great once we found it. Crème brûlée was outstanding!
