I wish I could have rated this place five stars. Food & the garden location were superb and, combined, definitely worth the five stars & the price to go with the Michelin rating. However, the service was disappointing & I would have to rate it three. So, averaged out to four stars. The food was sublime. Loved all the local flavors that were incorporated and the presentation was beautiful. Not wanting to miss out on anything, my friend & I ordered two dinner sets with meat & one additional dinner set that was vegetarian oriented. There wasn't a miss in any of the dishes. If I had to single out one dish, that would be the dumpling soup. So good my friend & I each ordered an extra. The desserts were out of this world too - even the petite four. Perfect to pair them with a cappuccino. The garden setting was perfect for us to really enjoy the dining experience as it started from twilight into the darker hours with the garden lights slowly coming on. The only drawback was the mosquitoes - there seemed to be many. Come prepared with bug repellent slathered all over yourself :-)

The service totally let us down though. The captain was fine - he was genial & accommodating. The serving lady seemed like part of the seasoned staff but gave off very stressed vibe. We tried to engage with her to lighten the mood but not happening. She was stern, abrupt & seemed more bent on making sure the dishes came out perfect, served on time & presented perfectly rather than making sure we were comfortable & enjoying the experience. Which was all fine & we appreciated the effort but she made us tense every time she came out. Some of the other reviewers pointed this out as well and indicated, perhaps, this may be the older French standard. Things haven't changed for many years & I'm sure there's no change coming in the near future.

Not sure if we'll come back - the food was amazing, pricey to go with it but service gave us a pause.

The chef must be an artist. The food not only tasted delicious but also presented beautifully. Service was also great. Had a wonderful dinner over there with my family.

Though there’s an opinion which is against the staff of this restaurant, I truly had good service from the staff here. The woman which made a reservation on the phone was very friendly and she welcomed me when I entered this restaurant.The male staff of the pictures of my taking was so attentive that he offered me taking a picture of a wine bottle which I could not take on the spot due to my phone ‘s problem. The young lady staff was nice enough to have my request that I want to take away the bread.
The one thing which I was not satisfied with was the porc which was very well done and wasc ather stiff compared to the one at other restaurants.
But allover this restaurant was very good to have lunch at and it was not hot even when it was too hot outside because of all the woods covering the tables.
To tell you the truth, I normally have the table inside when it’s very hot to avoid rhe heat, but here it’s so nice to eat outside even though the temperature is 35 degrees centigrade.
I want to say all the staff here to give me the unforgettable moment in Avignon.

Excellent, fine cooking, well worth its Michelin star.  The cheap menu is terrific value.  Good selection of Rhone wines, including one or two by the glass.  Very efficient service, can be too fast (ask them to slow down and they do), lacks warmth, charm or any personality.  The courtyard (outside) is perhaps the prettiest and most delightful place to dine in all of Avignon.

How did this place get a Michelin star? I have been to many a Michelin restaurant but this one has to be the worst. The food was beautiful, but only some of it was tasty. They served us scallops with strawberries and it was not avant garde, it was just bad. They also mischarged us on the bill. The ambience was very strange, the restaurant was quite empty and no music playing. Rip off for the quality of the food, save your money and go elsewhere.
