Puricelli is a true culinary gem. I started with the foie gras terrine, which was perfectly rich and smooth, a beautiful start to the meal. For the main, the duck breast was outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Each dish showcased incredible skill and attention to detail, with flavors that were both bold and balanced.

Food is below average to average. Service was terrible at the end! Quite clear they are badly understaffed and the dining clients have to suffer due to them managing multiple dining areas.

Beautiful dining room with two large chandeliers and a painting of Kaiser Willem II and great views of the river.

There is also the option of terrace dining but it was a warm day with highs of over 30’C,
So we sat indoors.

Service was attentive to start with but as we found through dinner it then came to a grinding halt after mains. We had the 3 course surprise tasting menu which was not so much of a surprise as we asked what we were having. As it was filet for mains we ask it to be done rare.

Our sekt by the glass turned up Medicare cool so we sent it back. The waiters then put more ice in the ice bucket as it was 30’C , clearly the bottles were not cool enough.

The amouse of sour dough bread and butter which was caramelised was good.

The starter of Saibing ( White Sea fish) with water melon cubes and soy sauce were nice. Quite fresh and perfect for summer and tasted close to a tuna tartar.

The mains of rare sirloin and not filet as mentioned when we enquired( it had a Strip of fat on the side of the meat)  with carrot puree, pardon peppers, tomatoes and pea shoot was good. The weight  of the fillet could have been more, I reacon it was
150grams only.

Desert was ok for banoffee caramel pie which was sweet and the chocolate brownie was below average .

Music is via small sonos boxes on the floors.

Service towards the end of terrible - waitering staff disappeared for long period probably to manage the terrace so we have to wait quite long time between dishes to get service.

Wasn’t worth the 160 euros for
2 persons for the 3 course meal!

I would put this at a 3.7 to 3.8 but rounded up. It is a large room with spaced-out tables and big windows with a view of the front lawn and river. It is decorated like you would expect from a palace feel....historic paintings, large chairs, chandeliers.

I had the avocado soup and the tagliatelle with saffron. I enjoyed both dishes. I liked the pasta with mushrooms and arugula. Everything was well presented. We had wine with dinner and it was very nice.

The service was a little off. We had to request the bill multiple times. Service was stiff and not very inviting. I get formal at a nicer restaurant but you still want to feel comfortable and taken care of.

We visited the restaurant the 5th if September and became a bit disappointed with the experience.

The food was decent, but not up to par with being mentioned as a Michelin guide recommendations.
We ordered the 6 course menu and were almost full after the second course- portion sizes way to big for a 6 course menu.
The wait between the dishes were often 30-40 minutes and some dishes were just given to us without a presentation. The whole 'experience' took 3,5 hours, which was way too long.

Since they moved the resturant to outside terrace we sat together with the hotels guest who just were there for a drink. This meant that there was, though the whole dinner, another guest dog barking at everything that moved. A kid kept on crying.
80% of the positive experience we had was the surroundings. The castle was absolute beautiful. Without the castle, the rating would have been lower.

In one word: overpriced and underachieved
The good: excellent atmosphere and decoration in a 19th century chateau, very nicely decorated and with an upmarket feeling. The hors d'œuvres were good, as well as the wine.
The bad: service (altough seeming attentationate) was ineffective and unappologetic; the dishes were unbalanced, with too little vegetables on the side and they took too long to be served (it took more than 35 minutes to get our deserts, under the excuse that there was a group nearby and they had priority; at this price range, completely unacceptable); they then took more than 5 minutes to find some bread to accompany the cheese platter; also, we were served a strawberry chocolate ganache that lacked any trace of chocolate and the waiter explained that it is not mandatory to feel the chocolate in a ganache (!?).
All in all, something went wrong that day; we would not return. There is a nice italian next door, Peppe. No frills, family owned, offered us a much better experience.
