Herrlich ruhig mitten im Wald gelegen trifft man auf ein höchst ambitioniertes Team von Gastgebern, die ein hervorragendes Essen in einem gemütlichen Gastraum servieren. Die Gerichte sind kleine Lunstwerke und äußerst schmackhaft, der Koch lebt für seine Kochleidenschaft und das Serviceteam ist sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Located in a wonderfully quiet location in the middle of the forest, you will meet a highly ambitious team of hosts who serve excellent food in a cozy guest room. The dishes are small delicacies and extremely tasty, the chef lives for his passion for cooking and the service team is very attentive and courteous. A successful meal and a perfect experience. Angezogen vom besonderen, nachhaltigen und regionalen Konzept des Hauses sowie den jüngsten Zugängen im Team haben wir uns zu einem Gourmet Wochenende ins Schlosshotel Hohenhaus aufgemacht. Das alte Rittergut liegt idyllisch schön versteckt im Ringgau und ist nicht nur architektonisch sondern vor allem landschaftlich eine reizvolle Erscheinung.

Wir konnten uns einen Platz im kleinen Gourmet-Restaurant „La Vallée Verte“ sichern und wurden zu Amuse Bouche und Aperitif am Kamin vor dem  Restaurant begrüßt. Auch wenn sicherlich Champagne ein schönen Start in einen solchen Abend darstellt, so geht man hier deutlich mutiger mit einem bretonischen Apfelschaumwein zur Sache. Eine schöne Alternative und ein toller Auftakt in die Besonderheiten des folgenden 10 Gänge Menüs. Das Menü schafft einen Spagat zwischen Klassik, Regionalität und doch einer großen Portion Überraschungen - die im Übrigen ausnahmslos positiv waren. Kleine Kniffe wie das Leinsamenbrot welches am Tisch des Gastes seine Gehzeit verbringt erden den Gast und machen das leidenschaftliche Handwerk dahinter noch sichtbarer. Das Gesamterlebnis wurde mit einer mutigen und absolut überzeugenden Weinauswahl begleitet. Statt Mainstream und Everybody’s Darlings wird auf besondere Paarungen gesetzt die ausnahmslos positiv in ihrer Passgenauigkeit überzeugen. Das gesamte Team präsentiert sich zugewandt,  authentisch und freundlich und bereitet dem Gast einen Abend der noch lange in seiner Gänze im Gedächtnis bleibt. Einfach toll! Ein absoluter Tipp für Menschen mit Liebe für die gute Küche aber auch den Mut sich auf etwas Neues einzulassen. Wer das beherzigt wird hier ebenso wie wir glücklich und zufrieden nach Hause fahren und bereits über den nächsten Anlass nachdenken wiederzukommen.

Attracted by the house's special, sustainable and regional concept as well as the latest additions to the team, we headed to the Schlosshotel Hohenhaus for a gourmet weekend. The old manor is idyllically hidden in the Ringgau and is not only architecturally but also scenically attractive.

We were able to secure a place in the small gourmet restaurant “La Vallée Verte” and were welcomed to an amuse bouche and an aperitif by the fireplace in front of the restaurant. Even though champagne is certainly a nice way to start such an evening, here you can go much bolder with a Breton apple sparkling wine. A nice alternative and a great introduction to the special features of the following 10-course menu. The menu strikes a balance between classic, regional and yet a large portion of surprises - which, by the way, were all positive. Little tricks like the linseed bread that spends its time at the guest's table ground the guest and make the passionate craft behind it even more visible. The overall experience was accompanied by a bold and absolutely convincing wine selection. Instead of mainstream and everyone's darlings, the focus is on special pairings that are without exception convincing in terms of their fit. The entire team presents itself as approachable, authentic and friendly and prepares the guest for an evening that will remain in their memory for a long time. Just great! An absolute tip for people who love good cuisine but also have the courage to try something new. Anyone who takes this to heart will, like us, go home happy and satisfied and already think about the next reason to come back.

Ob auf der schönen Terrasse oder im kleinen Gourmet-Restaurant - man darf ein kulinarisches Erlebnis erwarten. Die Küche ist innovativ, ohne sich zu 'verrückten' Kombinationen zu versteigen. Schon die Appetithappen sind ein Genuss für Augen und Geschmack. Das folgende Menu bietet kleine, originelle Gänge in aufwändiger Zubereitung. Manchmal (nicht immer) wünscht man sich eine etwas offensivere Würzung.
So ein kulinarisches Theater ist nicht für lau zu haben. Menu und Wein für zwei Personen kosten auch ohne Ausschweifungen an die 500 Euro.
Der Service ist nett und eifrig.

Whether on the beautiful terrace or in the small gourmet restaurant - you can expect a culinary experience. The cuisine is innovative without resorting to 'crazy' combinations. Even the appetizers are a delight for the eyes and taste. The following menu offers small, original courses with elaborate preparation. Sometimes (not always) you want a slightly more offensive seasoning.
Culinary theater like this is not available for free. Menu and wine for two people cost around 500 euros, even without excesses.
The service is kind and eager.
