The food was good although a bit too sour for my taste (and I got some belly aches after), everything being very professional doneand I really enjoyed the presentation they gave us for each course.

Everything went very smooth and I did not realize when 3 hours have passed.

One note that I would have is that when we were served a new wine (we got the local wine pairing which I can definitely recommend), the presentation of the wine was on a fast forward manner, like they just wanted to be over with it. They also used a lot of terms which I did not know (maybe because I am not a pro when it comes to wine tasting) but I would have liked it more if they would have presented this in a way that people with less knowledge in this field would gain more.

A very cozy and stylish restaurant with nice and friendly ambitions staff as you rarely find anywhere, but

But this doesn’t exclude the food quality

The food is superbly excellent, full of ideas with a touch of tradition woven in. A menu is diligently styled, exciting, never boring and always some surprises.

This is one of two gems in Budapest

The staff was extremely polite, observant, smiling and contributed significantly to the good atmosphere felt in the restaurant. The food was well presented and great.
Local ingrediencies, self grown herbs and various special  conservation methods was the baseline.
From luxury dishes to potato soup - which by the way was excellent.
The Hungarian wine pairing was interesting - including great story telling by the sommelier - and it also provided a couple of  positive surprises. The Turay Családi Pincészet (Brut) being one of them. Orange wine(s) was also special.

The Micheline star awarded to Salt is well deserved.

Even such excellent establishments, may have room for some slight improvements even if it's on tiny detail levels:

When a wine is supposed to go with more than one dish, it's quite common to get a little extra in the glass if close to empty when the last of the pairing courses are served.
When serving the bread , we were told to not eat it all with the next course as it also should be a side to the following.
If the waiter had added "but if you need more, just ask" it would have been prefect.

We did the tasting menu which was exquisite. Service outstanding . Quality of food excellent .During our stay in Budapest we ate at 2 other restaurants that didn’t even come close to what Salt offers .  The meal came to about 500£ well spent !
