The bed was comfortable. The bath & shower were great. The location is fantastic and a main reason to choose the place. The staff were mostly very nice and helpful.

The breakfast wasn't inclusive and was barely better than nothing (paying ~30/plate for toast and cold boiled eggs and bad coffee... ouch). The only reason to suffer through that on vacation is if you're getting a tour and it comes before some of the vastly better options nearby are open.

There was no privacy sign to keep housekeeping out of our room. You definitely wouldn't want to come here with a family, as there is zero privacy in the bathroom/shower/bath. I hope you're really close with your partner, as the semi-transparent glass paneling for the toilet may look nice, but it's a poor choice for practicality.

All in all, overpriced for what you get. I'd probably look for better options next time. Fortunately, only a few days of our stay were here. The rest were at much better accommodations.

We LOVED 101 Hotel in downtown Reykjavik. The convenience of the Hotel’s location to restaurants, shopping and transport can’t be underestimated. The rooms were comfortable and new. The amenities on-site were top notch and the staff was terrific. They took great care of us on our trip and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else!

The hotel staff were super friendly and very accommodating by allowing us to check in early. The room was very nice, the bed was comfortable, nice comfortable robes offered  for use, nice bathtub and shower and shades that help block out the long daytime hours. Parking was somewhat limited with six parking spaces. The toilet area was enclosed with semi-transparent walls, so that was a bit awkward. The location is amazing, we could walk to many locations. There were great restaurants, bars and shops close by. We considered having our laundry done at the hotel but it was very expensive so we used a local laundromat. The street noise was pretty intense at night. We could hear people talking, cars driving by and music from nearby bars. We enjoyed our stay and the pros outweighed the cons for us, but just a few things to consider.

Great staff, nice rooms, great location during the day. However once night comes around a nightclub opens direct across the street. The rooms vibrated and rattled with the sound of electric dance music until 3am followed by another 2 hours of people screaming in the streets. This would be an easy 4+ star location if not for the nightclub.

Good hotel, nice decor. The room was huge and very pleasant.
Huge expanses of glass but not always easy to manipulate all the curtains when you want a bit of darkness in summer and it's daytime for 24 hours.
Although the location is great because it's so close to the centre, the downside is that you're never quite at peace with the noise. VERY noisy... Especially on party nights, when young people go out in this part of town and you can enjoy it while lying in bed...
Check the acoustic insulation.
