We really enjoyed this hotel. There is a bar and restaurant onsite, along with snacks and drinks available 24/7. This is helpful when booking all day tours.

There is also a neighborhood cat that hangs out in the lobby and I could not have been more excited about it. I’m not even a cat person, but this cat was just the cutest. LOL The staff helped us arrange transportation a handful of times, they even gifted us with a complementary charcuterie board to help celebrate our birthdays and wedding anniversaries. We will be definitely be back!

Oh, we were able to walk down to the water (maybe 5 to 7 minutes) and saw the northern lights. There are benches on the sidewalk. Such a great night!

Our stay at the grand was good. They way the bedrooms are advertised is misleading. We booked a family room which is supposed to be two bed of double occupancy. One of the bed is a sofa bed but that's not indicated anywhere in the description. We asked to be changed and they weren't able to for the first night but gave us a different room for the second.

For the price I would have expected renovated rooms. We also had the grand book later in the week which had a much nicer room, completely modern but was an interior facing room on the first level facing the lobby.

Breakfast was great and Service was also great.

Location is perfect and has free outdoor parking.

4 star hotel with a 2 star service. Breakfast spread was the saving grace. Cant say the same for the staff service though. Perhaps alot of Asian guests at that place, and hence the non chalant service by staff twds asian guests. Felt unwelcomed.

Hotel host were very cordial and helpful. No tipping needed. The rooms were nice. I got a shower and tub and used the tub more. TV had BBC news to keep up with the latest. Coffee in the room using the Nesespresso machine. Snack bar 24h in the lobby with beer. I also enjoyed markets in town to supplement my snacks.

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Reykjavik was nothing short of incredible, we arrived to the fantastic surprise that we had been upgraded to a penthouse suite, which made our trip even more special. The staff were absolutely lovely—welcoming, professional, and always happy to help. The food at the hotel restaurant was excellent, with great options and very strong compliments to their chef, we loved every dish we had there, everything about our stay was perfect, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!
