Right across the street from Saint Stephens park, the hotel has been modernized just enough to be comfortable without losing the charm of an historic location. Nice view of the park's greenery from our third floor room. Friendly and attentive staff, good breakfast.

We stayed here three different times for one night each during our vacation in September, 2024. We paid for the same room type on each occasion. The first night we had a lovely room on the first floor with a beautiful view of the back garden. The second night, about a week later, we had a nice room on the third floor with another beautiful view of the back garden. The third night, about another week after the second night, we had a room on the second floor and it was not good at all. The room was very small with only a skylight (that we did finally manage to open because it was very hot in the room and there was no air conditioning). This room did not have the same amenities as the first two - no coffee maker, no little treats were left, the bed was much smaller, the shower was tiny - like a little glass coffin. I'm not sure if you can request certain rooms, but my advice is to try - maybe ask for a room that has windows that open - or some other amenity that you prefer - so you don't end up staying in one of the bad rooms.
The staff were all very nice, professional, helpful - no complaints at all.
The location was great - close to the tourist sites but far enough away that the streets weren't busy and the area wasn't noisy. The park behind the hotel and the one in front of the hotel are both lovely.
All in all, we would stay again if we could be certain of the room we were getting.

We enjoyed a great  stay for 2 nights at Stauntons on the Green. Central location overlooking St Stephens Green & closeby Grafton St. Our bedrooms was spotless clean, comfortable beds & ample supply of toiletries & while fluffy towels. The ensuite  did not have a bath but had a powerful shower. Our bedroom was on the 3rd flood as lift not in building we had to climb 65 steps to our bedroom.  A delicious breakfast was provided with good menu  & staff excellent & provided a great service. Staff at reception were also helpful & friendly. We will  definitely be returning to this hotel & certainly recommend it.

We (myself, my wife, and our 16 year old) stayed for 8 nights over the American holiday of Thanksgiving (late November) whilst we visited my older child who is enrolled at university locally. We stayed in room 208, which is a family room on the second floor (third floor to Americans) overlooking St. Stephen's Green. It was a lovely property in a great location, and I was debating between whether I should give it four or five stars overall. I settled on five. I will organize this review with some facts about the room, what I liked, what almost caused me to lower the rating, and what ultimately caused me to settle on 5 stars.

The hotel is immediately to the south of St. Stephen's Green. I rather liked the location, because it was a convenient walk to the LUAS (commuter train) station and Grafton Street without being quite so busy. The building is a lovely old home with which they have done a great job. Please know, however, that this will give you very real challenges if anyone in your party has mobility issues. To honor the character of the property, there are a series of steps and tight staircases and no real place to put an elevator. There is a breakfast room that also serves tea. There is no bar, per se, but they have some beer, wine, and liquor in the tea/breakfast room which the front desk attendant can arrange for you. A shot of Roe and Co (a decent whiskey) was 10 euros, continental breakfast was 15, and various full breakfast options were 20 if they are not already included in your room rate. Breakfast is very, very good. Wifi is great. Our room had a nice work space, good (and complimentary) coffee and tea service, and one of the power plugs was even to American standard. We of course had an Irish power converter which helped with additional devices. The bathroom was shower only (no tub), but it had great water pressure and heat.

In terms of what I liked about the hotel, I suppose a lot of that is in the facts that I covered in the paragraph above. However, it was a comfortable room in a great location. More to the point, every hotel employee we encountered was helpful and kind. One chap, Zach, was particularly helpful, but everyone was great. We were even able to check in early, which obviously isn't guaranteed, but was quite helpful after a long flight. The linens were soft. The wifi was good. Breakfast was tasty. In short, it was a lovely hotel which happened to be available at a significant discount to the options on the North (and busier) side of the Green.

The room had two problems, however, and they were significant. The first is that there was a *lot* of noise from the street. Most of the hotel was further back from the street, so for most rooms this will be less of a problem. For us, however, it made sleep a challenge. We were graciously offered a different room, but that room was much smaller and not great from 3 adult-sized people. They did offer some ear plugs, and that helped, but the room was just too loud. The second problem was that our room had two bedrooms in it and one bathroom. There was a door frame between the two rooms, but weirdly no actual door. It was super weird to have two bedrooms with zero privacy between them.

So what caused me to settle on five stars rather than 4? One thing is that my challenges were peculiar to my room rather than to the property. More significantly, however, when I was in the airport I received a call from the hotel. It turns out I had left my very expensive headphones in the room. They are mailing them to me in the U.S. That's the sort of thing I meant when I said this is a particularly high service hotel. They are lovely people, the property is great, and I would be delighted to stay there again.

Even though there were building works going on , it didn't interrupt our stay here. Spacious room with a nest of a bed to cosy into. Friendly and helpful receptionist.
