We were incredibly disappointed. We went there because of "P.S. I Love You" and expected it to be bustling, but instead, there were empty tables at 10 PM, with maybe three people there. When we asked the bartender if there was still food available, he very absentmindedly said he didn't know, then said no but suggested we check nearby. He also didn’t know if other places were still serving. We ordered a drink and hoped things would improve, but there was also no music at all. Not even from a playlist.. When we asked the same bartender if there would be any live music today, he again replied absentmindedly, "I don’t know." How can you not know that???? He said he would ask someone and let us know, but he didn’t do anything.

We left after that one drink, feeling let down, especially since I had been looking forward to it throughout our whole trip and it was my birthday... ☹️

It breaks my heart to give it one star, but even the smallest pub on the corner has music and better service. (It only applies to that one waiter.)

When I sent my mom the pictures, she thought they were exhibition rooms because it was so empty. There was nothing upstairs either.

Great venue. Brilliant location. Went to a brilliant gig there recently, and loved it. Was on the NA beer that night so cannot comment on the pints but the place was hoppin'. 5 stars.

Went to see modernlove here. Lovely place to for a concert. Very vibes and great venue for small gigs. The drinks are a little overpriced it was 12 euros, for I say 150ml of malbu and coke. The entrance for gigs is to the side of whelans

Easy to find, unfortunately didn't realize we'd have to pay to hear the live music in another area. I was just thrilled to know this was the same bar as in the movie!
Also, online menu was 12 years old as per bartender and they gave us a menu of Indian food that could be ordered in, via delivery. We passed & just drank

Went to Whelan's on St. Patrick's day. Great variety within the venue. Downstairs was basically a pub, upstairs there were two areas with live music, a smoking area, and a few bars. Even on a crowded night, no trouble getting drinks. Friendly staff, great sound. All in all a lovely venue.
